Hello I'm new to the Game of thrones card game. I love the books, and decided that it was time to check out the cards. I really enjoy playing the card game so far. Right now I have just one core set and wanted to get some more cards. I like playing Lannister (Tyrion is my favorite character) and my gf likes house Targaryen. What should I buy to improve the Lannister and Targaryen decks? It seems like there are tons of helpful veteran players on the forums. Thanks for taking the time to read my post.

There is a boxed set that came out recently for house Targaryen, but they haven't released one yet for for house Lannister. My advice would be to pick up a sub-collection if you can. That way you get a set of 6 chapter packs that have cards with common themes for deckbuilding. A Time of Ravens, Kings Landing, and Brotherhood without Banners have some great Lannister cards.

For those two houses, I would suggest:

Targ boxed set (Queen of Dragons) for Targ, and the King's Landing chapter packs for Lannister (the shadows mechanic and plots are a popular deck build for Lannister, and there's another version of Tyrion in this cycle).

Depending how much you can afford, then I'd go with the Brotherhood without Banners chapter pack cycle. These packs give Targ players the option of building a Dothraki themed deck, and Lannister players Clansmen decks.
