Yellow thing in the Ground

By deadeb, in Call of Cthulhu Deck Construction

My next deck, don't hold back your opinion:

Crazed Arsonist X3

Bringer of Fire X3

Glaaki X3

Cthuga X3

Atlach-Nacha X3

Yog-Sothoth X3

Cthulhu (Lord of R'lyeh) X3

Journey to the Other Side X3

A Single Glimpse X3

Gathering at the Stones X3

All are One X3

Parallel Universe X2

Things in the Ground X3

Prism of Many Views X3

Arkham Asylum X3

Infernal Obsession X3

Victoria's Loft X3

Seems weird.

This is how deck-building works in my opinion:

Set up a goal how you want to win the game (damage, creature removal, control, deck manipulation, etc.) and look for cards that can do the job for you in ONE colour. For stability add or splash another colour that is only to stabilize the strategy and/or give you another advantage.

Your deck seems to me as if you just took powerful creatures and rely on things in the ground. Hmmm...I don't know. Let us know after the testing.

Good luck!

I would worry a little bit about three copies of your unique big dudes. What would happen if you have one insane and revealed another copy? I think some cards to consider:

Opening the Limbo Gate: A little bit of a different way to "reanimate" some of the GOOs. Your characters should always be better than your opponents so there should be little downside.

Stalking Hound: It can come into play (I think) from hand or discard pile after they reveal a character from Things in the Ground. So free characters are always nice.

Ancient Guardian: I know it is out of faction but getting multiple triggers off of Things in the Ground seems like it could be good.

Victoria's Loft seems like it could backfire if your opponent destroys the Arkham Asylum or you can't draw it, mill them all etc.
