Runebound Board Warping Advice?

By PKDuke, in Runebound

My Runebound game board has a little warp to it such that the Item/Encounter/Market Deck cards tend to slide off both sides. In other words, it has a natual bow in the middle(yes it came out of the box that way). Any advice on any homemade remedies for this? Shall I place it between books for a while or something?

Anyone ever run into this with a gameboard? Any suggestions?

Evenly distributing some heavy items on top of the board should help if the warping isn't too severe. Two or three days should show some results. You may want to flip the board over after the first go weighting it down and then weight it down from the opposite direction as well. This 2nd go may not be needed if the first was successful.

You could also elevate the board off the table a few inches by putting a hefty book under each end, and weight the center of the board. Just don't add too much weight that you would overload it and crease the board.

I just wanted to tell everyone here that I emailed FF customer service about the warped board and they replaced it immediately. All of the good things everyone has to say here about FF game support are true, and I now know firsthand how dedicated they are to their product. I especially enjoyed a FF postcard inside the packing that had the message(handwritten) "Thanks for playing Runebound" on it. I will patronize this company eternally...not only do they make the best games, they care about people fully enjoying their games. It is clear that to the FF staff, making great games is a calling and a passion...not just a job!

This is a bit off topic, but I must praise FF's customer service as well: I'm from Finland and about year ago I bought Runebound 2nd edition and it had 2 similar plastic figures and one figure was missing. I contacted FF and they sent me a new figure right away! That's just great customer service!
