My Luther

By Necross, in Dust Tactics

Just getting started, I have the core set to paint up and I started with my Luther. Here he is :)

He was painted with just the model's primer as the dark gray areas, and the light gray is GW Fortress Gray, then a coating of GW badab black all over. The weathering was done with pigment powders mostly in the lower areas so the feets look dirty, and GW boltgun metal for the chipped paint.

I'm ust starting a unit of recon grenadiers, I'll post them soon as they're done. Guess I'll do all my Axis models first then do the Allies next.

Wadaya think?

Looking very good.

I especially like your machine gun lights, go paint the rest of it :P

Thanks :) I got him done pretty quick, it's about 2 nights work and a good chunk of that was waiting for washes and dullcoat to dry. The pre-prime thing is a big time saver.

Nice work. The base came out cool. I never had any luck w/ flocking, myself.

I like the rusty/bronze look for the claw, and the lights/scope part looks good too. Metallic blue pearl paint? That stuff's really useful for small detail like that.

The lenses are actually just blue paint. I used Vallejo Stormy Blue as a base color. Then I painted GW Ultramarines blue along the bottom part of the lens, and then a little dot of GW ice blue at the top corner of each lens to look like it's reflecting a light

The rusty claw started as a brown base coat, then I just splotched on some oranges and lighter browns and then some gw boltgun metal drybrushed on the corners
