New to Game of Thrones LCG and Looking to make a good Stark Deck (More Stark then Tully)

By Azarith_Stryffe, in 4. AGoT Deck Construction

Hey everyone,

New to the forums and new to the Game of Thrones game and series really. I wanted to make a good Stark deck that uses mostly Stark characters, direwolves, and is fun to play. I've seen Stark decks that use Tully's and not many Starks or the Wolves. Some of the other neutral allies such as Night's Watch, or even more of the Stark only characters, but not necessarily Starks would be fine, but Stark family members and the Wolves are my big focus. Could you possibly help me design a deck and point me to the sets I need for the cards, so I could go get them. I currently have 1 Core Set and purchasing Lords of Winter soon, would be willing to add to that with chapter packs and such for stuff I need. Thank you all so much for listening to me rant and be a pest with my question. ^^

when you do get your lords of winter expansion it comes with 2 deck suggestions using core and low. A Tully and a Direwolf. 2 really awesome fun decks to play with. And it comes with a nasty stark agenda-Siege of Winterfell. the deck sheet will explain how it works. If you like the starks and wolves like i do you will want to get 3 core sets eventually to customize your deck more. I realize there's some weaknesses in the core set if you're playing competively, but you can still make some fun decks. I made a deck almost entirely from 3 core sets. i have fun with it . In our play group we have one of all the player types- a Stannis, a Jaime, a Nedly, a Shagga. I'm a bit of a nedly/jaime.- I like to win but i also love the art the stories the characters and to make decks just to have fun. You have to find out what player you are. Some might argue i can't be both.

Okay I made both decks from Lords of Winter, I was wondering if you could offer some advise, I have been reading about how people do not like playing with Take the Initiative plot. For the Direwolves deck, do have any suggestions for a new plot? I also am thinking of taking out Wildfire Assault, because that seems to hurt me as much as the opponent with the way Stark pumps out characters. Any suggestions would be great.

Take them by Surprise, not Take the Initiative oops

Make sure you have the event cards that let you find your wolves. And get the location that makes all Direwolves have stealth. Being able to have a lot of stealth will help against Targ players. I have played with Stark a lot, but could never win with them. They seem to be tripped up by the fact that they don't have many "throw away" characters. They get bypassed a lot with Stealth if you go Army so I cannot really recommend that route. Good luck, I couldn't make this House work for me.
