Trouble on Omnicron 71-DX

The next adventure im going to do with the acolytes is that they are going to arrive on Omnicron 71-DX in order to get a check up for their inquisitor(a tech preist magos) whose systems are failing. On the planet are three warring companies/factions. They are Black Mesa, Combine and Aperture science(yes these are refrences to portal and Half life). But a powerfull foe and a logideamon is watching their every move.

1.Landing-When the acolytes land I will allow them to get supplies, weapons ect. When they return too their Inquisitor they will find him in pain, his mechanical parts failing. He will request that they take him to Aperture Science for a check up. As they get to the Entrace of Aperture they will have to do a Perception test(-20). IF they pass they will find a small deamonic familiar by the name of lucifer. If they fail they will see the logidaemon moving above the roofs of the Combine main buildings and the Black Mesa Building. When they enter their Inquisitor will be taken away for Repairs.

Traits(Daemonic, dark sight, Fearl, from beyond, Natural Weapon(Claws 1do10+2, Pen 2), innate Psyker(Psy rating 2), Changeling, Size Puny, Soul Joined, Wapr Shadow.

Sorcery: Exsanguine, immunity, warp lightning, Wll of Souls, Warp Tounge

If they notice it they can try to capture it or talk to it. If talked to it flees. The acolyes can take a agility test(-20) to catch it. IF succesfull they can ask it any question but it will lie to them.

What would you like this mission to be all about? Bringing peace to the 3 "parties" (or ending their struggle otherwise)? Is the Inquisitor to be rescued? The Logidaemon to be stopped?

What are the three "parties"? Guilds? Noble Houses? Sects of Mars?

What is a Logidaemon? The Daemon-Thing from Creatures Anathema? Is he already on the loose? Is he to be messed with or just something "to big to handel and thereby a large background threat like i.e: a raging storm"?

The information you provided is a little slim, I think it is hard to give any advise since no acutal questions are given happy.gif

Yes the Logidaemon(the deamon thingy from the Creatures Anathema) is needed to be stopped beucase there are two facotrs to it. It is being used by the Combine and two it will captured and use their inquisitor against them in a battle. The three parties are two Sects or Mars(Black Mesa and Aperture) while Combine being a noble house want to buy both of them out. The anatogenst of this is the Combine owners son, a corrupt noble born(and the owner of Lucifer) just wants the destruction of both Sects to try and throw the sector into chaos. As the acolytes progress they will learn the the Logi Deamon orginated from the Combine Building

I have just 1 question, Whats to stop the players from blowing the familiar to tiny gooy bits?

My players have a horrible tendancey to shoot first and ask questions later, and unfortunately this has been a recurring theme in past groups I've been in and run.

That is true but beofre they can even think of killing it(which i hope to avoid) it will yell ut that it can help them and destroy the logi deamon*cough*helping its master*ough* by offering them a daemonic pact

Sounds like fun, hopefully they will try to catch / question it instead of saying, "don't tempt us foul deamon! now die!" and then open a hail of fire that destroys the familiar, wall it was next to, and possibly the Inquisitor.

Well befire they can destroy it it will disapear wether or not they accepted the daemonic pact. I have the acolytes then take their inquisitor into Aperture only to have them surronded by tech preists in white robes and medical servitors, which proced to take him to get repairs. The head tech priest will approach them with a job offer, to destroy the Logi Daemon because it is a abbomination unto the Omnissiah itself! and he offers them 1000 throne gelts each beacuse it has done damage to Apertures Labratories (which will not be told to them) when Maledictus(the son of the Combine Leader) comes in asking if Aperture has accepted his offer which the head tech priest says never and to leave. As Maledictus is leaving he will make a coment to the assasin player(revealing his true name) and disappear through the familiars sorcery(which they wont know the conection between the two until later)

Im planing on having the acolytes enter the black masa tower(which is on fire because of the Logidaemon and Combine Soldiers(Kill squad troopers with unatural toughness and meltaguns!) and they have the option to resuce scientists(if not saved guess who gets corruption). once they get 150 meters(3 third floor) they will see the logi daemon fall past the window(aka it jumped) and head towards the Apeture Labs. Once the acolytes exit black masa after saving(or not saving) the scientists the can give chase or go to the Combini tower. If they chase it they will find apeture labs damaged and tech priests hurt. The lead tech preist will tell them it went straight up to where the inquisitor is getting repaired. As they get to the third floor they find lage holes in the wall(s). Once they enter the room where their inquisitor is they will ifnd the logi deamon attached to the ceiling at its wires going into their inquisittor and battle will commence. I plan this to be a tough battle for the Acolytes. Now the acoyltes have two options, kill their iquisitor and the logi daemon or cut the wires on their inquisitor(Freeing him) and destroy the logi daemon.

If they head to the Combini building they will fight their way through Combine Soldiers and get to the top where they will Encounter Maladictus and the Familiar,Lucifier, on his shoulder. At Maladicctus feet is the Head of the Combine, dead. If a acolyte charges him combat will comence. If not Maladicuts will explain why hedid this, why the logi deamon, why every thing. Their inquisitor(posseded by the logi deamon will burst through the wall(with the logidaemon behind him) and battle will commence. Before a acolyte can kill maledictus, His familiar will use the sorcery power to teleport him of the planet(with lucifer of course)

so what happens if they kill the inquisitor and maledictus gets off world? Will still be able to chase him? Will the Inquisitors ships captain let them back on in though the Inquisitor is dead?

Mind you the current conition of the acolytes is that they are heretics under false pretenses, because of asassin let a Silence live. If their inquisitor dies, well thats their problem. They got rides from different ships. At the end of this mission i plan to give them their own ship for them to use. Even if they were not herectics the ship captain would let them on and drop them off at which ever planet is the inquisition main base. Will they be able to chase maledictus, no they probably ownt be able to locate his location
