What does everyone use for their monster cup?

By doubleatotheron, in Arkham Horror Second Edition

I've just been using the top of the Arkham Horror box as my "cup". I was mostly wondering because I was wanting to upgrade to an over-sized dice bag of some sort, but I haven't found any that are up to snuff yet. I'm debating just buying a bottle of Crown Royal and using that. I imagine that would fit all of the monsters. Any suggestions to keep me from buying liquor I won't ever drink(I'm a 7&7 drinker exclusively) would be greatly appreciated.

Definitely the Crown Royal Bag ~ used it for 20+ years as a dice bag, now two-and-a-half years as a Monster Cup!

I use a CR bag. The 750ml size easily holds all the monsters from all expansions.

Lately I've been looking for a solid sided box to switch over, since I am concerned about corner-wear on the monster tokens. I may have to make one.

Don't you think a solid case would be harder on the token corners than a soft fabric bag?

Also, I use my own homemade drawstring bag quite similar to the CR bag.

I have no basis for this thought, but it seems to me that in a bag they are more free moving and can rotate around, and a box would keep them more restricted, causing less rubbing. But that might be all in my head.

I'm using a sturdy shopping bag made out of thick cotton. It's extra made for a book seller where I live and it's perfect for AH.

My CR bag is too small, but I don't have the money to buy a huge one (though I would enjoy it). Currently I'm using the Carcassonne bag that comes with one of the expansions. The monsters fit with plenty of room.

What?! You got a bag with one of the expansions?!

Yes, it was in the Traders & Builders expansion. Be warned: if you're an expansion freak, this bag won't be able to hold everything from Carcassonne. I have all the Carc expansions I would ever want (about two thirds of them) and it barely holds them all.

Crown Royal bags? I just use a mixing bowl. happy.gif

I use this: http://www.boardgamegeek.com/image/510262/arkham-horror It's a custom-made flat-bottomed dice bag of phenomenal size. It will hold EVERY monster from EVERY expansion (including spawns that never belong inside it anyway), and it's still only half-full. Plenty of room for your hand to dig around in.

It was commissioned from "Marsbarn". A great deal of Arkham Horror players have gone to her for their own unique Monster Cups. So many, in fact, that she's got a whole sub-page devoted to Monster Cups on her new website: www.marsbarndicebags.com/Marsbarn_dice_bags/Monster_Cups.html

I used to have one of the coolest monster cups ever, but then one of my little monsters got hold of it and it got devoured (not literally)

Let's see, Veet posting about his "cool" monster cup with a link, gee could it be—

Yep, the Halloween bowl.

I liked that one, now I'm using a metal mixing bowl. Any suggestions for a replacement?

I'd continue using CD spindles if they didn't chew up the **** chits! It would be nice to own one of those etsy custom bags.

i use the pandoras box from the God Of War 3 Ultimate Edition

it works really well...and i also use it for storage to hold all my bagged tokens when putting the game away

A black bag with silver sequins. I found it in a shop whilst looking for a present and thought it would fit Arkham just fine. I have a smaller red bag for gate tokens, and I use compartmentalised kits from a DIY store for all the counters

Thats what I use with the thermoset signs . I have 2 for using Black Goat of the Woods.

I use a can from CVS brand Absolutely Divine Luxury Wafers. It has a lid so it's easy to mix the chits up by shaking it. I suppose that is rough on the corners though. I'm a bourbon man, but I might have to buy some Crown Royal to get a bag.

@ Shub. Hey, they're cool! If you could let me know who's sells those, that'd be sweet.

That's her link above. It looks like she's taking July off for her family, but she'll be back in August.

Yep - that's the one. You can choose from a wide range of materials for the outside & lining of the bag too if you don't want to go with black.

Heh, I just use one of the bags that came with the the base game, I really can't find anything much better to use. I gotta say, though, it's really not the best thing.
