Well done, sir, well done. She's adorable :)

Thank you I tend to think so too.

I love the "He's trying to nerd me up, as mom calls it." Priceless.

with their lack of military strength, I think Lannister struggle to capitalise on a reset more. They can restrict income with blockade and strip hands with intrigue, but they struggle to kill things off. By contrast, one good card after a reset for Stark, and they'll stop you from ever getting a good foothold. Think I'll probably swap Valar for Wildfire Assault for Lannister.

I'd counsel against that.

Wildfire looks like it should be good for Lannister (Hurrah, I get to keep some guys!), but it's actually a bit of an own goal (Wait... so does my opponent).

Valar helps Lannister to annihilate literally everything on the table, which it otherwise struggles to do via military challenges. Wildfire just lets them clear away a little bit of chaff, then leaves them facing three (or more) unfriendly characters who continue to pound them in more military challenges. Without the completely clean break that a Valar gives you, it's more difficult to come back and capitalise on the fresh board position.

Personally, I'd recommend keeping Valar for Lannister and then deliberately playing with it in mind. Horde characters in hand, build up card advantage via Golden Tooth Mines (etc) and then seek to rush back into the game after the Valar. It's just Lannister's best trick. If you really don't want to see double Valar happen in Stark vs Lannister games, make Stark give up the Valar for a Wildfire.

Also, if you wanted to 'pump up' that Lannister deck a bit and to give it more kill/control power, how about adding the following cards:

1x Golden Tooth Mines (best card in the deck, no contest)
1x Pyromancer's Cache (on the restricted list for a good reason)
1x Castellan of the Rock (if you can't kill them, permanent lockdown is good enough)
1x Enemy Informer (as above)
1x I'm you Writ Small (Surprise Deadly = Easy Kills)
1x A Lannister Pays His Debts (I don't even need to justify that)

Perhaps pull out some of the weaker cards like The Lion's Will, Shae, Chella, Sweet Cersei, Gutter Rat's Cunning, Gilded Plate, etc, if you're keen to keep it at flat 60 card decks?

Alternatively, switch out the Valar in the Stark deck for Wildfire... that might help the Lannister out a little bit. And if you want to be particularly tricksy, use the Brothel or another "kneel" card on Bronn between Standing and Plot phase. If you have Tywin Lannister in play, and can spend two gold from him to use Bronn's ability, a 4th character will survive the Wildfire. :)

Isn't Wildfire Assault "Cannot be saved" for all but the 3?

I think the trick here is that Bronn isn't saving the character he is stopping the kill effect wihout the word "save" . Hmm never actually thought about doing this (if this is ok with the rules since I'm not 100% sure of this).

Just made up the Baratheon and Targ decks, with a couple of minor tweaks - minus the King's Landing Cycle cards again as I don't own those, with a different Dany- the +1 strength for all your Targ characters, and I've got her in twice.

Taking all four away on a group holiday. Probably won't see much action, but if the weather in Cornwall is wet next week, hopefully we'll have some new AGoT players initiated.

Also, Jon Snow (CS) + Long Claw + Ghost (CS) = awesome combination. Will have to use it more often.

Dumb n00b question: Does Jon Snow's effect stack with Renown given by Longclaw? Is this specifically because his ability is spelled out, rather than just having Renown to begin with?

This thread really needs to be a sticky. I'd love to see those melee decks at some point too....melee is better for briging in new players.

Yes and yes.
