CS Robert and King Robert's Debt

By Ratatoskr, in 2. AGoT Rules Discussion

Quick question: Does the extra power CS Robert claims due to his effect count as power for renown? If I win a challenge with Robert as my only participating character, and I play King Robert's Debt afterwards, do I draw one or two cards?

At first I was quite sure that Bob's extra power is not power claimed for renown, but comes from a passive effect that triggers off renown being resolved, so I'd draw only one card with KRD. But then the wording got me thinking. It says "When Bob claims power for renown...", not "After Bob claims...", so I guess the case could be made for the extra power actually being part of renown and landing me an extra card with KRD.

So, what'cha think?

That would be the answer here. It's actually used as an example of passive effects in the FAQ.

Yeah, and it's actually totally clear from the timing structure. Don't know what I was thinking. Brain fart. Gotta go to bed right now. Thanks anyhow, ktom.
