Response " after you lose a challenge, discard Bastard Daugter from play to put a unique sand snake character into play from hand or discard pile"

When i lose a military challenge,

-Can i use Bastard Daughter to satisfy the claim

- in moribund stage, use response " discard Bastard Daughter to play a unique sand snake"

- and then i place Bastard Daughter in the dead pile?

I find this not rationale. Coz it didnt play the cost of discarding to get something.. M I right?

Yeah, you cannot do this. Check FAQ page 16, moribund rules exception - no card can be removed from play twice.
