[Reaper] Summon Spells

By Dam the Man, in Talisman

Okay, straight into the questions:

1: You can use them when another char attacks you, despite the spells having the wording "Your turn ends immediately" if your summoned help loses?

2: In player vs player combat, if you use summoned help and it loses, does the winner get to pick as per winning a battle/psychic, or does the summoned being just die and no reward? (I'm kinda seeing the latter way, like you summon something to distract/fight the opponent and slip away)

2b: If your opponent doesn't get a reward for beating your summoned help, do you get one if the summoned being beats your opponent? The spells state that you get the trophies if used against Enemies, but not sure about PvP.

Nobody has any thoughts on these sad.gif ?

1, if your turn ends and it isn't your turn, that part is ignored. You can use the cards whenever there is about to be a combat.

2a, If your opponent beats your summon, they get nothing from you (they didn't beat you). It might be nice from a rules perspective if they kept the spell as an appropriately sized trophy, but that isn't in the rules either.

2b, Yes, you should be able to take something from your opponent. Whether that's life only (they were beaten by a monster), or a standard choice, that does seem up in the air. At our table, a summoner can take choice, as per usual with a win.

Those summons are good if you use them at the right time. gran_risa.gif

But if my craft or strength is higher, then i use it on a enemie to try to discard the card, so i can take another spell with the wizard for example.. gran_risa.gif

I't's a good defense for a pvp fight, but i don't want to keep it the whole time for that situation.. gui%C3%B1o.gif

Is there any particular reason why you keeping necroing threads from up to 5 or 6 months ago preocupado.gif ?

Hi Dam,

I like to chat a little, on some topics. happy.gif

I was coming across this topic, and like to post something about this.

I wanted to give my thoughts about this. happy.gif

The topics are still open, for people who want to post there..

anyway.. it's so dead here now, so i am looking to some topics here

I personally don't bump age-old threads unless it's a rules thread and there has been some new revelation/clarification. Non-rule threads need something worthwile addition for me to necro them. Just my netiquette.

You are right, but then it is better to closed the thread..

But then again.. people who are looking to a answer for summon spells, can look here. and see what other people think about this..

If we can only post in topics that are not old, then we have not much choices( if we like to post there) and Talisman will become a dead forum here. sad.gif

There are some topics that i have not seen yet ( like the farmer etc) and i wanted to give my thoughts about it..

I think that the most important thing is that we have fun here on the forums gran_risa.gif

There is no need to close the threads, but as Dam said there should be at least something worthwhile or at least something fresh to post about in an older thread.

The threads are all still here and new users should take the time to go through the older ones to see if a topic has been covered or rules query answered. Hopefully the FAQ will have a sticky which will help with things once the FAQ is released. Even if they miss one thread and post a new question then it is not the end of the world. It is sometimes good to have a new thread rather than having to trawl through pages of an older one which might be confused with other comments etc.

Another thing which I think does not help is excessive quoting of previous posts as it makes some posts very long indeed. It is not always (hardly ever actually) necessary to quote a whole post and and there is certainly no need to make 4 new posts in a thread each quoting a separate user post. I know the forum software here is not the most user-friendly, but using snippets and "@user" to reply would suffice.

There are also the issues of "smiley overkill" and "chatroom speak", but these might be down to personal "taste".

I know it seems that FFG do not have specific rulings about necro-posting and some of the other issues above, but other places I frequent have and I generally follow those guidelines. I am sure I have been guilty on occassion of transgressions, and no doubt will post a wink or two around the place, but it's just something to bear in mind. It could also just be that I am a boring old fart. gui%C3%B1o.gif

Hi Talismanisland,

Can I tell you from one very old fart to a younger old fart that it's not the age of the body that count but the age in your mind, the hair turns grey but the mind stay sharp, think old and you will be old preocupado.gif

On the necroing of old thread, I do agree with Velhart that the forum looks dead for a day or two with no new post or replies to current threads, I do also agree with Dam that unless something new and relevant to an old thread come up, we should just pass on or make new ones, but personally I think it's the flagrant lack of seach capability on this forum that is to blame!

Not all new member take the time to open and manually search months of old thread to see if a question have already been answered or raised in the community, hence if an old thread as some interesting topic, I don't care if somebody bring it back to the front until we do get a decent way to search for specific questions or topics in the forum.

Let's get back to talking about Talisman.

Cheers

I agree with TI. I must be an old fart too. I actually stopped looking at the forum as much because there was no

Created Dat e column and a lot of the threads seemed very old and were resurrected for no particular reason.

Forums would naturally be quieter this time of year, the weather is better so people go outside more and also on holiday.

I think there should be a limit on the amount of referenced posts that can be included too, it can be too confusing to read, I just give up.

i am thinking for adding the most important topics to the announcement topic( that JC made) or something new..

This way, it's easier to find..

The only problem is that it needs to get updated, otherwise it will go farther and farther on the pages..

But i go give it a try..

I shall work later on it... ( need rest first) gui%C3%B1o.gif

Greetings,

~Velhart~
