again about storage

By skolo, in Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay

I still use album/card sheets in a 3 ring binder and put my chits/stand-ups in a zyplock bag.

Those little boxes they have there are at the office supply stores. Are you thinking of putting your cards in there as well?

This thread has some good photos, advice, etc.

I personally went the route of sleeves (FFG sleeves for the mini-armerican and standard american board game sleeves & 4" x 5" polaroid sleeves), a plano tackle box (or other good modular tackle box would work), and a basic every-day $1 card box with index tabs for organization of the action cards (the card pages are easier but...I like alphabetizing my cards and indexing them...I'm sick in the head that way plus I can leave them in sleeves). I stuffed all the standups into my player's vault & creature vault boxes. I have managed to fit all the expansion materials with room for more as well as my custom crapola.

When I travel I only bring the crud I need (so I leave behind my card box), but it is nice to have everything stored in my library/storage shelves with minor fuss.

yes. i bought boxes to store Talisman and I will do some photos when it arrives.
I checked sizes etc and 1.6litre box sounds nice for ACTION cards.

I need to check Talisman option first and see how much space it takes.

21 litres XL box + 2 big trays (6) may be enough to store ALL of the stuff, but maybe only 1 tray + additional boxes. I have no clue yet.

I've opted for a cheep and cheerful card box. Main reason is I want all the cards within easy reach, relatively organised (meaning a system other players will quickly understand and be willing to maintain) and easy to pack away in a hurry after a session without loss of basic order. I also wanted to go down the album path as I wanted to avoid flipping pages during a session and can still easliy hand a player a stack of action cards to thumb through.

Box cost $8 from a collectable sports card shop. Also bought clear plastic Ultra pro boxes as deviders as its easy to slip a paper label in them. The mini size cards required me to make some card deviders and to build a simple card riser under them.

Labels were simply cut out from a print out of the Card and Component List.pdf and folded into the clear boxes. I've sleeved most of the action cards and bought larger Ultra-pro sleeves that can hold all of a set of basic cards or set of magic order cards etc.

All the tokens, puzzle pieces etc, and the career stand ups also fit in the card box.

Unfortunately this game defys a single storeage solution and dice live in a seperate dice bag and Monster stand ups are broken out into the Creature Vault box while the Adventurers Toolkit box holds the Character sheet pads, Career and Party Cards. I forgot to include the GMs large format components like the Nemesis Cards and the campaign/adventure hand outs. And though they fit fine in either the Creature vault or toolkit for storage, I rather keep them in another box along with GM screen, GM notes and PC tuck boxes(though I use ziplock bags to store PCs). Photo shows almost all components up to and including Omens of War and I feel there is plenty of space in each box for further expansions without the need to reoganise.

Everything I'm inclined to transport in the photo above. All the soft cover books store nicely in the core set box (hefty weight!) and I rather leave them at home as the Guides do the job. Plan just print the relevant rules pages for Witches, Mounted Combat, etc and future rules and keep in a binder.

nice work.

I will try my stuff when it arrives and post some photos as well

Here's my solution

Looks great and workable Gallows :)

looks very good Gallows. how about storage for more expansions?

What brand are those storage containers and where can I get them, Gallows?

-ashe-

here is my boxing

every expansion cards, tokens, dices, no problem to put players and game master guides inside. plenty of room for next expansions.

thing I need to make is separators for actions/talents etc.

Yep, Skolo, I use those Really Useful Boxes, too. They come in the right sizes for the little cards, are very durable, and the lids stay on tight. They used to carry them at Staples, but stopped; you can still order them online from Really Useful Boxes.

My wife got me a few tubs for carrying all the cards etc. They really are the business, though I suppose a folder might not go amiss either, hmmmm....

I found a combination of binders (one for players, one for the GM) with card sleeve pages and one of these is amazing (though I will be getting a second soon). The mid size bins are perfect for small card decks and all the bits can be easily organized and passed around the table individually. It is also totally configurable so you can organize the small containers however you want inside the case.

My stuff is in 'Really Useful Boxes' too. In fact, they do one that has two layers, compartmentalised already. Found that really useful for separating cards, holding dice, counters, whatever. Then I have a few smaller boxes for other counters.

Man, there are a LOT of bits for this game though :)
