Multiple effects - one source

By Rozy, in 2. AGoT Rules Discussion

1. If I have Maegi in play and there are 2 more STR 1 characters and i flip threath from north as my plot, all of them go discard, the question is can i trigger maefis responce once or three times, since the effect that trigers it has one source?

2. If i have Kraken tatoo on my GJ char and i have an abitity that discards 3 cards at once such as Drowned disciple, does my char gets +3 or +1 STR?

1. 3 times. Responses are not trigger by effects per se. They are triggered when certain conditions are fulfilled. In this case, the condition is fulfilled once for each character.

2. This I'm not too sure, but I would say 3 times, since the condition for trigger is tied to the actual card and not an effect that discards the card. Contrast the effect of the Tattoo with something that says "Response: After an effect discards..."

Kraken Tattoo Cost 1
[Greyjoy Attachment]
Condition.
Attached character gains the Ironborn trait.
Response: After a card is discarded from a player's deck, attached character gets +1 STR and Intimidate until the end of the phase.

Maegi Crone Cost 3 STR 1
[Targaryen Character]
Ally.
Response: After a character's STR is reduced to 0, draw 1 card.

More to the point, when you use Responses, you are Responding to the results of the triggered effect, not the initiation of the single effect. So Maegi Crone can Respond 1 time per character whose STR is reduced to 0 - even if a single effect brings many characters to 0 at the same time. Similarly, Kraken Tattoo can Respond 1 time per chard that is discarded - even if a single effect discards multiple cards at the same time.
