Rampage Show Pics

By Major Mishap, in Dust Tactics

Dust Tactics at the wargame show Rampage, Essex went down extremely well again with all 4 participation games having its full compliment of players, 2 a side each player with 16 pts. And again, nobody (exept for those who saw us at the last show) has even heard of the game. There was not one retailer selling the game :( FFG, get your ass in gear and sell to wargame retailers!!!!

Nice models,

The one time I've seen a store stock DUST Tactics was at an IPMS show and the seller had only 1 tank kit...

Fantastic looking Demo board!!!!!

Did you get much interest from people wanting to play the game on the day?

How did you make the Jersey Barrier Style walls?

The terrain you have really lifts the game up from being just a board game. Thanks for taking the time to share. I should have my copy of DUST Tactics today :)

The walls are downloadable fro Board Game Geek.

Oh, and where in England are you guys playing DUST? I'm visiting London and Belgium next month and might like to get a DUST game in since no one here plays it...

Thanks for the comments. The game is a really fig draw as it looks, and is very different from all the other mundane games on show. The game was very succesful with demonstartors from other clubs and companies wanting to take part as well as the public. One lad played in three out of the 4 games instead of playing others.

Walls are from Board Game Geek

And we meet up here: sites.google.com/site/medwaywargamessociety/location about 40 miles south of London.

Firstly guys, I told you we had heard of the game about a year ago.

Wayland Games stock this.

And our game Heavy Gear Arena ran over 20 games during the day which I believe was the most.

Nice pics. How did you do those wall sections? are they scratch built or something you can buy?

Great pics,

Brian

Good work Major! I'm sure you steal the show with your DT game. I agree with you that many still have not heard of DT yet. FFG should really buck up in its marketing effort........

Dont think that the other games are mundane. DP9's Heavy Gear Arena is a new game on the block and was busy all day with a lot of games played. The James Bond style spy game behind you was excellent as was the Dr Who game they changed to in the afternoon. And the WWI table was just fantastic.

I'm not denying that there were other great games on fantastic tables far better than ours, but most are mundane, games and terrain you see at every show you go to, another blue cloth with ships or planes on it, another european landscape covered in tanks or ranks upon rank of men all looking fantastic but all looking the same. The White DT board with several giant mechs is far different to any other game you see at the shows, its an eye catcher and draws attention, others are mundane in comparisson. All I'm trying to do at these events is to promote the game, and it appears to be going well, next event is Sidcup in Kent.

Good job, Major :)

Do you have closer pics of the US walkers ?

Guys,

Just to add a comment on the above mentioned, I do not think it is fair to say that the other games on demo at rampage were mundane. I see your point that your board was different to the others on display but when you say that all four participation games were played with two people a side that did include your own children!!

I liked your board and the models/ scenery were nicely painted you did a good job on it! well done there!

Will you be pitting your different board at salute next year against the mundane boards? If so i will see you there as i did enjoy the game and have now bought it.

Hi, we do not put games on at Salute as I prefere to go to that as a visitor as you wouldn't have time to see everything if you were running a game as well. The next show we'll be at is Skirmish at Sidcup in September.

We were running 2 a side with our games and the kids only played to make up numbers when needed, there was a young lad there not of our club who played in three of the four games.

I think others and myself have different views on the definition of mundane, so sorry if I am causing offense its not intentional.

Congrats Major! I see that you have won a new convert to DT. Maybe FFG should pay you a commission for every customer you brought in happy.gif

nice set up , i hope to see at a show somtime .
