Print on Demand expansion for Mansions of Madness (Season of the Witch)

Playtested the scenario last week. Found it interesting, but the monster mechanics is too similar to "inner sanctum". Though, there is a twist of non-linearity in the clues that I especially enjoyed.

For my playgroup, more non-linearity is key to make the game playable. The common complaint is that it isn't so much an investigation as it is a scavenger hunt where they don't know what they are looking for to start the hunt. In any case, I'm eager to try the new expansion.

I ordered my copy on June 24 & there's still no sign of it arriving here in Australia. It was supposedly shipped early July (I think it was on the 5th, can't be sure though).

At this rate, I may as well have just waited the month to order it from an Australian store as it would have been cheaper anyway.

I also orderd mine from FFG directly. Still no word. I love FFG, but i think i'll stick to ordering stuff through Amazon.

I spoke to soon. It came today and looks excellent! Sorry FFG!

I for one am disappointed in FFG this time. The cost is to high compared to what you get. They could at least have added some new tiles or a unique figure for the 14.95$. The cards are of bad quality and not much new is added to the story nor to the extra cards. But that's just my opinion.

Hopefully they make up these mistakes with a great expansion because I love MOM happy.gif

You know, my bulb may be a little dim, but I'm not sure I understand the purpose of the reprinted cards from the regular set that comes with Season of the Witch. I get that the print-on-demand cards have a slightly different appearance on the back ... but if that's an issue, why not simply put a "You have found nothing of interest" card from the regular game on top of each pile of cards in a room that would normally have a card from the new set?

Different textures/look/feel of the cards for one. Even when sleeved you can sorta tell the difference. But the main point is that you only need to grab the POD exploration cards when seeding that scenario, you use them all, no need to dig out through the base + POD exploration card decks to find the cards you need (other than finding the right Clue cards).

Just recived my copy.

Got this strange printing flaws on my event cards and keeper action cards. Wonder, how they made it into the actual expanansion box and wasn't rejectedsad.gif

Though my morale is lowered a bit, scenario looks like pretty interesting and fun to play, can't wait to gather my friends for it.

I got mine a few days ago and it was flawless.

No printing errors and the quality was great.

Haven't played it yet, though... maybe I'll spot something by then.

It's obvious every box won't contain printing flaws, I'm just living in the East Europe and it's extremely hard to get your hands on this expansion here(I paid twice it's real price, because there is no other choices and if I wont get it now - someone else will) and what I get for this is 7 misprinted cards. It just feels bad and unfair, if you understand me.

Have you contacted FFG? Their customer service is superb when it comes to replacing missing/broken bits. Bottom of the page, "User Support".

Depending on how you see things, Finland (my country) could be seen as Eastern Europe gran_risa.gif , but FFG has sent out replacement figures and cards on each occasion when a game has had something missing. I doubt your location has anything to do with their willingness to set things right.

What do you mean missing? How did you proved it was missing from very beggining and you didn't just lost it?

Most recent stuff comes with the Proof of Purchase token (though not sure if the code is the same for everything), but most of the stuff I've just contacted them, listed what was missing and they've sent the missing pieces to me, free of charge of course.

Season of the Witch wasn't available through my FLGS, so I had to order it from the FFG webstore (already had ordered the Space Hulk Death Angel PODs).

Generally FFG, and most game companies, will take your word for it when contacting them with a few missing/damaged components and will replace them free of charge without needing to see proof of purchase or anything.
