You da best.

So much for going to sleep.......

When will we have the book? Just so us fanbois have something to whine/eagerly await demonio.gif .

Assuming past RPGs are an indication, there will be a few (as in "too few") copies at GenCon and the real release a few weeks later.

Just seeing the "rebalanced" Legion bolter.

Older is better, CSM stuff is older, wait whut?

Am i allowed to laugh now partido_risa.gif ?

...your point being?

Nahh the Strength 4 AP 5 bolter just saw his third incarnation within the FFG rules framework.

I dont really look into the DW section and am mostly in the RT part. Thats why we probably havent met yet ^^.

We just had a few discussions on contradictions of FFG and GW stuff over there within the last month. The Bolter is simply the most prominent example.

(And basically a good indication of FFG trying to find a good spot for it. Just like the full auto rules making BC the 40k 2.0 rpg set ^^.)

Actually if you look at the Broken Chains Legion Bolters they happen to be exactly the same as the Deathwatch Astartes Bolters (well as of the living errata anyway).

Thanks. I guess the next preview adventure will answer my question anyway, but is it a coincidence that the characters end up with a chaos vessel under their control? Sure, it's weak and it has to be repaired, but it's a ship....

One of the things I appreciate about FFG is that they basically inherited the game system from Black Industries and you can see with each subsequent game (and errata) gradually changes in the system that are almost always for the better. It's pleasing to see that level of engagement with the rule system as well as a fairly aggressive attitude towards fixing and improving it.

@Mjoellnir

"Ship under their control" is a rather stretchable phrase. As it is now, the void ship is a barely-flying deathtrap. Whether it will survive another journey in the rather turbulent currents of the warp inside the Vortex or be repairable at all would be up to the GM. It's pretty much a hook the GM can use or abandon as he wishes.

@Cynical Cat

While Deathwatch was a bit of a slip-up with regards to some rules, I mostly agree. Black Crusade does look promising.

That's always true, still it strikes me as odd that it's an Iconoclast (and modified to carry torpedoes) instead of a Cobra. I guess we'll see what was intended when the second adventure comes out. happy.gif

Thanks I was looking forward to this. I'm very curious.

Hrmm looking at the errata 1.1.1, grabbed from the support thread, i cant find anything within the armoury section.

If found elsewhere ill retract my earlier statement. Its just the normal contradiction with 40k canon then.

Voronesh, its not in the armoury section of the living errata, its in the back, starting on page 10. A whole lot of weapons tables, with adjusted stats, at least for the Bolt weapons (havent cross-checked the rest, sue me)

Ah sry, didnt check for any appendix.

RT doesnt really have one, so i didnt really expect one. Checked only the armoury part and nothing else.

Ok that means BC changed nothing about bolters. And the 4 damage difference is alot less gruesome than the 1d10+1 pen difference than before. gran_risa.gif Its just a slight contradiction now, instead of the horror of stock DW. (4 extra damage and tearing dont make difference between two S4 bolters, but losing tearing and gaining 3 damage is good enough to be S5 for the Tau pulse rifle.....apparently)

Good times.

Glory for Chaos!

This is sweet! Will try and make my players interested in this one. :D

Had a chance to play it last weekend, it was fun. My party did it good. Looking forward to more games.
