Feared is a powerful new keyword that will leave your opponent’s units too terrified to use their special abilities. When a unit with Feared is declared as an attacker, the attacking player chooses up to X target units in any zone (or zones). As long as the unit with Feared is attacking, each targeted unit’s text box is treated as blank (excluding Traits)!

This formidable ability is a great way to circumvent troublesome defenders, including those with high toughness ratings or effects that block combat damage. And true to its theme, units with the “Feared” keyword tend to be the most horrific or awe-inspiring creatures the Old World has to offer.

The Spawn of Kintearer, for example, is a Dark Elf Cold One with the Cavalry trait, whose presence is both terrifying to his enemies and inspiring to his allies. Built into a Dark Elf Cavalry-themed deck, this bloodthirsty beast could consume an opponent’s deck right out from under him.

Meanwhile, the Star Dragon is among the most powerful units the High Elves have ever summoned. This massive and ancient beast is drawn to sites of magical energy, so this otherwise expensive Unit card costs less for every Spell you’ve used so far. This, along with its five power icons and five defense, makes the Star Dragon an obvious choice in your spell-centered High Elf deck.

But even players of neutral factions will find the new Feared keyword useful. The Zombie Dragon is a flying undead abomination that combines Feared, Necromancy, and a potent text ability, resulting in a Unit card that’s sure to become a nemesis of Order. When the Zombie Dragon enters play, it lends additional power to all Undead units... and since a single card with Necromancy can potentially enter play multiple times, you can reap the Zombie Dragon’s unholy benefits again and again.

All of these have great art!

Wow...Star Dragon looks really good.

Can't see images from work, can someone post these card's texts and costs please ? Thanks a lot.

Spawn of Kintearer

Cost: 5DDD, 3P, 5HP, Feared 1, Action: When this unit attacks, discard the top card of target player's deck for every Cavalry unit you control.

Star Dragon

Cost: 10HHHH, 5P, 5HP, Feared 2, Lower the cost to play this unit by 1 for each Spell in your discard pile.

Screamers of Tzeentch

Cost: 3C, 1P, 3HP, Feared 1, Forced: At the beginning of your turn, corrupt this unit.

Zombie Dragon

Cost:6 (Neutral), 3P, 3HP, Feared 1, Action: When this unit enters play, all Undead gain P until the end of the turn.

I think I like the Star Dragon best of those 4. There are alot of Spell cards that High Elves would want to play and could easily get him down to a 4 cost or lower.

I like the Spawn. The Dragon scares me in that he has the same level of power as HP and I hate playing Dwarves :)

The Spawn has good power, good health, AND a pretty good ability.

I've seen the Screamers before. I think FFG previewed them before when it announced a new pack. I was actually hoping the feared ability would be given to destruction cards only.

If your scared of some flying bats you need to be scared of a humongous dragon ;)

thanks for the post, great cards

I think the Dragon is very expensive to be honest. I know HE can circumvent the cost via support cards but still....

ofc Dragon IS expensive, but it will fit in deck with Comet of Cassador (aint sure about spelling), there are few cards which are spells which will fit very well in this type of deck:

Asuryan's Cleansing

Scroll of Asur

Judgement of Loec

Master of earth

Gift of Aenarion

Flames of Phoenix

Comet of Casandora

so even just 5-6 spells in your discard pile can make a huge difference :)

Vaul's Unmaking is 3x in my HElf deck, the new Dragon might tempt me enough to put Second Sight and Scroll of Asur back in, maybe even that Support that gives you a resource when you play a Spell.

In a well crafted deck, that dragon will be 3-4 resources and maybe even half as cheap as it's original cost. Another high end HE unit with devastating effects once it takes to the playing field.

Star Dragon is really awesome, instead i find the DE card not so useful right now. How many cavalries units are in DE's card pool? preocupado.gif

I got 4 units with a search at deckbox, which doesn't yet include this new card. Two Cold One units, Dark Riders and Morathi's Pegasus.

Don't forget destruction also has chaos knights and orc wyvern rider as cavalry units

And DElves can always steal opposing Cavalry as well. Though sadly Order in particular has just crap in terms of Cavalry. Annoying that many images picture the uni mounted (Reiksguard Knight, Black Knights of Morr) but they don't have the Trait.

and how about the new boar chariot attachment. Is it really calvary? I thought it was a typo but anyhow it does not make a unit cavalry either so no synergy with the dark elves

As I was going through my cards today, I was getting pissed off at FFG...again.

!!!Rant Incoming!!!

First off is it me or is the company becoming less passionate for their games? Shards of the Throne (an expansion to FFG's Staple IP, Twilight Imperium) is riddled full of problems. Mostly due to lazy editing and playtesting.

So why did Invasion tick me off? Well the simple fact is that Cavalry has been a trait since the core set. I tried to make an assumption here as to why certain units have this trait. Well my assumption is wrong, because I am pretty sure a chariot pulled by two lions requires skill to make use of them. So, now I am left to wonder. Does FFG even care about this game? Hell even the word "cavalry" comes up misspelled as "calvary" on two cards. So, what defines a cavalry unit?

Dictionary defines the word as:

Military .
a.
the part of a military force composed of troops that serve on horseback.
b.
mounted soldiers collectively.
c.
the motorized, armored units of a military force organized for maximum mobility.
2.
horsemen, horses, etc., collectively.

Using definition (a), only a part of the force has to compose of mounted units.
Using definition ©, a chariot indeed counts as calvary...opps i mean CAVALRY.

In another forum thread the question was asked "How long will the game last". I realized today, unlike with other card games, Warhammer: Invasion's life is limited by content. How many types of Reavers or Black Guard will we see before it is enough for the Dark Elves? Will we ever see another version of a Blood Thirster or Bloodletters? I will continue to purchase this game but I am starting to get the feeling that the capital cycle will be the end. This means now is a perfect time to start making my own errata and scenarios for the game.

FFG did some clever marketing with this game. First they had the hint that a multipler rule set would come. Then they previewed a tourney formet where the commuinty would decide on a hero to be printed. Well since Teclis was the Order choice, does this mean he was selected? They introduce epic spells and relics. Are no more on the way? The capital cycle will add at least 10 new cards for each faction. A look over at the miniatures catalogue will tell you that each faction pretty much only has about 5 more units needing to be added to the game. I hope I am wrong, but my gut feeling further enforced by my play group's is that the game is almost done. Honestly I think FFG wanted it to be a new money maker but without Mr. Lang they just didn't know where to take it and are now just trying to complete it for the games workshop fans. This isn't a bad thing. Sometimes things sound better than they actually work when applied.

Abandoned concepts:
Multiplayer rules
Heavy tourney support
Relics
Epic Spells
Legends(will be to encourage purchase of legends box)

Hopefully the capital cycle adds a new epic spell and relic for each faction and a legend

I don't see it that way because you can always make stuff up. They are doing it for LOTR, where some of their heroes weren't in any of Tolkien's books. As long as the game continues to sell, why would they shut it down? There are books out there also, that can provide new sources of inspiration, it doesn't all have to come out of GW material. As for legends, jumping the gun a little bit, don't you think? Hopefully, that won't be the case.

I guess they can make stuff up, but then they need to be careful to still keep the game feeling like it is in the warhammer universe. I take back what I said. After looking through the WoW TCG, I saw a ton of made up abilities and enemies for the game, but they stick to the WoW universe.

There are also all of the warhammer novels to pull IP from.
