Well... I have e-mailed FFG and called/left messages as well.

I am starting to actually get upset. Ordered mine about a month ago and still no word?

They sure were quick to take the money out but seem to be very sloth on even letting me know what's going on.

I would love to know if they're out of print or some **** and they just went ahead and took my money anyways.

So I've e-mailed them, called them, never get anyone on the phone and now I'm posting in the FFG Forums.

I had better hear something soon. Even an effing messaged saying they're sorry it's taking so long... or anything... but no... just $200 worth of silence.

If you've only recently ordered it, you should be aware that FFG had some problems with the initial print run of the DW Collector's Editions. I got one of these, and in common with a lot of other people, the spine separated from the book immediately as soon as I picked it up.

This wasn't FFG's fault, it was a printing issue. FFG immediately ordered replacements, but its taken a while to get these back from the printers. I would imagine FFG has been waiting for the new batch to arrive before sending you the new copy, rather than sending you one from the faulty batch.

The good news is that FFG have recently notified me that my new copy of DW is en route, so although I can't speak for FFG, I would imagine yours will be winging its way to you soon as well.

Thank you. I finally also got a reply from my calls and e-mails. I now understand the process a little better and am very grateful for the info.

I am very grateful for the reply to my questions and I apologize for being upset. I was simply worried.

If anyone else has the same issue or is wondering about this, here is more information that I got.

(Sorry on the delay in getting to you. We get a large influx of emails so it can sometimes take awhile to filter through them. Our Deathwatch Collectors Edition are all customized for our customers. This process takes time since the calligraphy is done by hand. We send these out in waves to the calligrapher. We send out a wave at the end of each month. Yours being at the very end of May is included in the June wave due to the May wave already being sent out and so will being out this week to the Calligrapher. Once we receive these back from the calligrapher we will begin shipping them out. The calligrapher (depending on how many she has of course) can take from one to two weeks and then allow a week to ship.)

Bumb/update... Still hasn't been shipped yet... still just says Shipping Pending.

Is it supposed to take this long???

I would think that they would have more then one person doing the Calligraphy.

And what the hell? Is it one 90 year old Calligraphy master from Japan that makes sure he meditates for a week before starting any of the work on one of the orders?

I mean no disrespect in any way... I know Calligraphy is an art... but I figured that if they had more then one order a month they'd have more then one person working on it. I dono... maybe it's just me. but everyone I've talked to has said that this seems ridiculous.

The one good thing is that I put my order of the regular edition of Deathwatch separate from the collectors Edition...

...or else I'd still be waiting to run my game.

They are dealing with releasing Black Crusade at the moment, their distribution wing will be working their arses off already.

None of us here can help you, you're better off keeping in contact with FFG direct through their customer services guys.

I've been "pending Shipping" for about 2 weeks...

Now at 4 weeks and "Pending Shipping" is still all i got for my cash :S

I had to get my delivery delayed because i was away from home for several months. The people at customer service were really great about it. I was to send them a message when i was again able to receive the collectors edition.

But shortly after i got back home i stopped getting replies back from them. I don't know if it's a problem with my email, with theirs or something else alltogether.

I'm away from home again right now having travelled to the capital for Games Day and to catch up with some friends and family, and i'm really hoping they can get it to me when i get home. But with my emails not being answered i don't know what the problem could be.

Considering that FFG is a company that lives becaus it can make money off the community it is surprisingly non-forthcomming in communicating/helping/supporting said community.

I will give them a week or two more. Then try one last time to communicate with them on friendly terms. If nothing happens i will take a more drastic action.

The communication was really good for me till recent months.

Maybe they are having some sort of technical problem and so not getting our emails?

Send them a polite mail with information that if they don't respond within a set amount of time (say 48 or 72 hours) you will contact them through a lawyer with a Breach of Contract issue. No company likes to get mail from a lawyer's office, especially since you have all the proof of your goodwill on hand (you waited, contacted them, paid for the product etc.) which makes the court very biased against a company.

Before you start paying for a lawyer, which will probably cost you more than your CE, pay attention to what was posted before:

You seem to have ordered yours at the end of August. Most likely your oath didn't go to the calligrapher until the end of September. As stated above, that means 1-2 weeks, which is about now, then another week or so before it's shipped.

Be patient. You are getting a customized item, that takes time.

If you don't have your item by November then start getting upset.

Though that has little bearing on my case as my oath was already done when i had to get them to delay posting while i was away from home. I was to email them when i was home so they could send it. When i was home for a couple months it was then that i got no replies. Now i'm away again but will be home again in a week or twos time and so i want to coordinate with them to ensure it gets to me safely.

In instances like this I will have things delivered to other places. I will have things delivred to a friends, parents, or work if I know I will not be around when they are going to be delivered to my home.

From the stand point of someone in a production industry, holding items to ship later or last minute changes in shipping are a nightmare to deal with.
