Hi,
Picked up the core box yesterday with an eye on playing with some friends this weekend. None of them have the game. A few questions came to mind that are probably really dumb, but if someone could help that would be great. I did read the FAQ quickly but didn't spot the answers.
1) Can a card be played and knelt for a benefit in the same Marshalling Phase? E.g. Can I play 'Northern Fiefdoms' and then immediately kneel it to reduce the cost of another Stark character I want to play?
2) Can I play attachments on opposing characters? E.g. 'Stinking Drunk' has a negative effect and so would be worthless on your own character. I ask because 'Motley' specifies you can apply it to an opponent's character, thus creating an exception that proves the rule (that you can only attach to your own cards).
3) Cards such as 'Lightbringer' and 'Nymeria' can be knelt to save a character from death. So the character would need to be killed twice in a round to actually die before his attachment stands again? Seems pretty hard to do. Does this mean that the only way to kill these characters is to have two chosen or universal kills in a round (e.g. 'Valar Morghulis' followed by a MIL challenge with a Deadly character)?
4) 'Davos Seaworth' has the effect 'save {himself} from being killed, then pay 1 gold or return him to his owner's hand'. So he can never actually die, but gets put back into your hand every time? Why would you ever pay the gold to not have this happen? I feel like I might have misunderstood this.
That's it for now, I've probably forgotten a few. ![]()
Cheers
Joe
