Personally I'm a bit disappointed that the revised rules did not incorporate a comprehensive FAQ. Looking forward to the additions of the institutions and additions to KiY & DH - the expansions I own.

Debating whether it'll be worth it to get KH next as I'm guessing that the Guardians are necessary to give the investigators a fighting chance against the newer GOO's

Theme is the primary motivator for me as well, although I've played enough co-op games to recognize the value of increasing difficulty in maintaining player interest over the years. I wouldn't turn down a new expansion based solely on a lack of difficulty bumps, but I'd be sad if they weren't there.

this was the first thing that came to my mind upon finishing reading through the book... maybe it will be there but they don't want to post it online so people will buy it.

My guess is that one of the skills may grant you the ability to draw one extra Exhibit Item and discard one whenever you gain any. There could be one for Injury/Madness, and so on.
