Have any of you heard any news regarding the Lannister box? I know its all speculation at this point but this must be the next deluxe expansion coming. Hopefully we get an announcement soon and that the box finally introduces "the Mountain" to the LCG!

I haven't heard anything, but I have a sinking feeling that the box is going to push Lannister back to the head of the LCG pack, although some might argue that it's still pretty neck and neck with Martell.

Please don't reprint Gossiping Bard in the Lannister box. Thank you.

I would be surprised if Lannister got a box set that had much to boost control / kneel. Think Targ box for Lannister. It will probably have a lot of Clansman / aggro stuff and Gregor Clegane and such.

Oh, wait, I forgot - Lanni can't have any other houses strengths (Targ's attachment control), other houses can only have theirs.

Another thumbs up for Lanni melee boost.

I suspect it'll feel similar to the Targ box. Some Clansmen support, and some other general theme that's not particularly Lannister (like Knights and Armies in other boxes), and some cards with no particular theme affiliation (The Mountain, perhaps some Bloody Mummers, perhaps two cards or so for Lanni Kneel.

And please reprint the atatchment Bastard in the Lannister box.

I would love to see some Lanni love for a KingsGuard deck. You can pull one off now, but it's not competitive at all ATM.

I was just talking about that with someone - I loved Bastard and it was a very balanced Nedly card. As was the 'opposite' of it, Proxy, which I liked as well (it gave the power icon, and was a save mechanic).

I'd love me some Bastard hate, but how about some Traitor hate as well while we're at it?

I know Martell is king of the mountain right now, but I don't know if I see Bastard hate as being all that necessary. If Sand Snake decks were a bit more viable then perhaps, but which Bastards see much competitive play outside of Edric Storm, Robert's Bastard, and Bastard of Godsgrace?

Erick had traitors in the Joust 'Worlds' both of the last two years (Lanni, and then Wildling if that counts ). I think both decks were the #1 seed going into the cut both years (?), and got 2nd both years. There is a place for them, if you read the meta right (and have lots of draw!).

I'm curious what kind of agenda will come with the new Lanni box. And I wonder if it will be House Lannister only like Siege and Heir, or if it will be a general card.

I think the 'Protege would make a great reprint... probably at 1 cost. It was cost was aggressive as a rare, it can pop itself back to hand, seems like a fair trade in ability/buff to all the 1 cost Lanni attachments that give stealth.

Also, since Targ doesn't seem to have any LCG cards that prevent defending by characters w/o attachments, why not give that evasion ability back to Lannister. Take Gregor's Retainer and spread that ability out... maybe to a character that had stealth instead. Then a stealth attachment would be worthwhile. Also, Last Minute Entrant.... a reason to make Lanni play a tiny bit of influence.
