Interesting... stats for Marines that are not Deathwatch marines. Interesting in that one of the Tactical Marines gets a new special ability, relating to his Chapter. Will we be seeing more special abilities like this? I can see Blood Angels getting 'Descent of Angels', for instance.
The Emperor's Wrath
Why FFG? Why? Why do you keep forgetting to detail which Codex squad mode abilities a special oath unlocks? See the Chaplain in RoB.
Correction in the next errata? Please?

It's a neat little extra but given how badly the film was received in our gaming group I doubt I'll be using them. TBH I'd find stats for the Watch Captains and some of the other Erioch personalities more useful.I don't have the rulebook to hand but I can't remember if the Ultramarines are even taking part in the Achilus Crusade? Hopefully the Crusade sourcebook will expand the roster of chapters fighting in the Reach.
always felt that it was a missed opportunity not to include PC marine chapters in the crusade (as far as I can remember there's really only the Storm Wardens in any significant numbers and a company of Space Wolves). Having marines from a player's chapter would offer some roleplaying scenes if their chapter brothers are at odds with the Deathwatch's objective.
Why does it say its on page 359, but 1/3???
Also I agree, I personally liked the movie, but just because it was 40k. It got some stuff right and some stuff wrong, it was a good intro to Space Marines for some in our group.
Gah... just like the armour history, it doesn't denote if the fate point may be spent, or burned as well.
And the other brother appears to have bolter mastery that operates in squad mode...
Though I would apply the same rule as the PA History. Too easy to have a "free extra death" per mission...

I loved the beginning on the ship. That was good. When they started to land on that empty planet, it all went mediocre. I think they were too constrained by budget. If they could have made it a planet filled with scenery and people (NPCs), it might have become a very good movie.

Personally, I'd prefer it if GW's future partners in movie-making ditched the CG route and went for good old-fashioned traditional animation - far cheaper, much easier to depict stylised combat, and entirely marketable (as demonstrated by the consistently good sales of things like DC's Original Animated Features). I'd sooner see a good story depicted in conventional animation unburdened by the budget limitations imposed by CG, than a computer-generated spectacle hindered by its own cost.
At least i can kill those two in some nightmarish way.
After watching that damned movie i would give both chars INT in 12-24 range...
And now i have little problem, for me lvl 1 DW char was on level of experienced Astartes or young veteran but if those 2 guys are level 1 DW characters then it should be stated that at level 1 u start as complete unexperienced moron level.
end of rant.

Yeah but I'm not optimistic about that.

The text for Proteus does kind of imply he is more experienced here than in the terrible movie. Him and Verenor are the only ones who survive the movie, so presumably these are them at a later date.

Yeah that would mean it's at the young Captain's stage. Which is laughable. The whole thing is laughable that of all chapters the Ultramarines would make such a lousy Astartes one of their Captains. He's got to be theworst Astartes Captain in the galaxy. Perhaps Calgar or Tigurius saw some potential in him?
It just makes no sense. Just don't give it any deeper thought but roll with it.

Oh, I'm loving it. But (constructive) criticism is what is fueling improvement.

Although it would have been better if they'd been sanity checked for errors before publishing!
"sanity proves nothing" lol
I would like to see the chaplin done with his rather special power
