Paper Operation Cyclone Landing Craft WIP

By Miah999, in Dust Tactics

Here is my papercraft version of the Dust Tactics landing craft from Operation Cyclone. Now don't be too critical as this is a rough prototype, and it will probably be a few weeks before I have any thing like a finished form. This took a couple hours, and it looks so rough because I'm out of glue and it's assembled with Scotch tape.

You may notice there are no Dust figures, well that's because I've had to cancel my order due to financial trouble. :(

Version 2...

Looks pretty cool, nicely done!

would love for you to share a template!

I haven't made a template yet, I'm just doing this free hand trying to get the shapes right.

I'll be sure to post one as soon as I have it.

I haven't been able to come up with a template any but myself could follow, but here are some dimensions

The "pilot house" is 90mm high, 31mm wide, and 100mm long with a 30mm long corner removed.

The side walls are 60mm at their tallest, 280mm long, and the hull addons are 40mm high and 10mm thick.

The base/deck is 216mm wide and 260mm long with the ramp being 105mm wide.

I'm not a paper crafter, so I'm having alot of trouble using my paper efficently, and making easy to fold shapes. For instance the pilot house is made from two whole sheets of card stock (it should only take one).

I'm going to take a day off from this to tend to my other projects. When I have some extra money I think I'll pick up some sheet stryne and a couple 1:35 scale LCMs and build something more in my abilities.

Hope the pics and dimensions help, maybe someone with more paper skill could figure out a template.

I'm not giving up though, just taking a break.

Thats actually pretty good, might be a lot of effort for a limited use project though unless its something you just want to do - which often yields the best results.

Well I was hopeing to develope somthing I could share with the community, truth is I think I could use some help, but I'm pretty isolated here, In fact I don't know a single person that plays the games I do.

Oh well...
