What is the "Accumulation Multiple" (and other noob questions)?

By Sir Jolt, in Anima: Beyond Fantasy RPG

In the Classes section, the last thing listed under Combat Ability for each class is something called the "Accumulation Multiple". This isn't defined at the beginning or the Clases chapter, nor in the glossary and it isn't mentioned anywhere in the example of character creation; what have I missed here?

I've just purchased the books and looking at the inside cover of the main rulebook I don't see any mention of a printing, which makes me think this is a first printing. Have there been any later printings? Is there an eratta sheet somewhere?

As someone new to the game, who will have to teach his friends who don't have any of the books, what/where is the best place to start and/or what should I avoid my first time through?

Thanks a bunch.

It is your Ki Accumulation Multiple as discussed on page 94.

There has only been one printing of Anima in English and no official errata has been released.

For a complete newbie, I recommend getting yourself the GM Kit. Given the players a pregen of their choice and running the adventure. PC creation is the hardest part of the game and it is a little easier once you have seen the game in action.

Thanks for the response but I'm not seeing what you're describing. According to p. 94 Ki Points and Ki Accumulation are based off of your characteristics, not your class. I don't see how Ki Accumulation (Table 50: Ki Accumulation) is based off of the Accumulation Multiple at all.

The Paladin, for example, has the following Combat Ability:

  • +1 Attack: 2
  • +1 Block: 2
  • +1 Dodge: 2
  • +1 Wear Armor: 2
  • +1 Ki: 2
  • Accumulation Multiple: 20

I assume 20 is the cost but I don't understand what's actually being improved here. Pages 94+95 don't mention, that I can see, about there being a multiple to anything. I apologise if i'm being dense here but I just don't get it.

It's a misprint. It's supposed to be "Ki Accumulation," as noted on Page 32. As you read, you will find many of these issues. Might as well get used to it.

There is errata out there somewhere; I don't pay attention to it. Someone else here has it.

Best place to start? You can probably find a GM around the boards, but this game is best played on Tabletop.

Ah, I see now. Thanks.
