If your character has WS and Ag of 30 and untrained in dodge and parry then I think its pretty darned obvious they should not be charging into combat screaming "blood for the blood god" or similar. If thats your start up capacity to avoid damage probably time to kit out on armour/fields and stay in cover, while giving verbal encouragement to your local friendly CSM. It does look like buying dodge/parry shouldnt be too tricky under BC rules if its a worry?

On a positive note it offers a mechanic with a better scale for players and GMs to create characters who are worse at combat than the rules allowed before. Realise this isnt everyones cup of tea but one player of our group occasionally likes the challenge of playing a character so un threatening as to be almost suicidal in a dark RPG setting.
