Miskatonic/Agency/Syndicate Deck

By mi-go hunter, in Call of Cthulhu Deck Construction

Just created a new deck that seems effective, even though I haven't playtested it yet. Keep in mind that I only have one core set and the Dreamlands cycle asylum packs at the present time, but if my deck can be improved by purchasing any additional asylum packs (or another core set), please suggest! I"m not good at remembering details from the names of the cards, but I'm wondering if you have enough Dreamers to get advantage from Dreamlands Scholar and Dream Dagger?

I think I have enough: 11 Dreamers in a 56 card deck. Also, I recently replaced one copy of Dream Diary with Restless and Wary (which refreshes all exhausted characters)

Sorry for bumping this up, but I am really curious if my deck is effective on a competitive level, especially since I only have 6 Asylum packs (the Dreamlands cycle) and one core set. Any suggestions on how to improve it such as what Asylum Packs or cards I should add or purchase? Anyone?

I think your deck doesn't give you much stability, my friend. I wouldn't combine three factions together, I believe two factions in a deck is enough, you can have problems with resources, especially if you only have one copy of most of the cards. If you resource it, you can't play it. And stick to 50 cards per deck, again for stability.

You should kind of think about what do you want your deck to do and think about which faction can do it. Splash in second faction for protection and stability and you are good to go.

Unfortunately there are very good cards in the core set and if you bought only one, you will miss very good cards (Paul Lemond, Small Price to Pay, Binding, Agoraphobia, to name a few.) I know it's a pain in the ass to buy the same set, but you only have to do it twice more and you're done! All the rest is 3 copies per pack as you already know.

Example: You'll be dead after couple of rounds if playing against Cthulhu/Hastur deck as most of your character will go insane, due to general lack of terror icons on Agency/Miska/Syndicate characters. You will need something to balance it out.

I didn't look at all the cards in your deck, so I can be mistaken. This is just a general idea.

Good luck with future decks!
