A Couple of Questions

By baysbenj, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

Hello Everyone,

We just played our first game last night and have a couple of questions on the rules (like most beginners do).

1) Do skill cards get exhausted when you use them? If not, then what cards to get exhausted?

2) Does the overlord start with any cards in his hand?

3) When Spawnings new monsters: Considering that monsters must be placed on the board out of line of sight of the heros, do they actually get placed down? Or is the overlord supposed to track their position through other means?

4) I only have two gold chest counters. Did I lose one?

Thanks for the help!

I had almost the exact same questions.

1. No they don't. (unless one says specifically to)

2. Yes he does. Three of them.

3. Put them on the board.

4. I was really pissed when I only found two as well... There is no '3' in JitD anyway...

Snort

3) The line of sight of the heroes is not necessarily what the hero players see - when revealing a new area, all the monsters are placed already, whether the heroes themselves already would see them or not (I guess they have really good ears). So "Out of the line of sight of the heroes" need not be "invisible to the hero players". In other words: Yep, place them on the board.

4) There really are just two, yeah.

Thanks everyone for the help. Looks like we played each and every one of these wrong :)
