Player -> Servitor

By cobrausn, in Dark Heresy

So I have a player that died. Except he didn't really just die - he was kidnapped and vivisected, and returned to the party later in pieces, approximately 15 minutes after death. It was a very 'What's in the Box!?' moment.

So the Inquisitor decided he wanted him turned into a servitor, in the hope that his memories of the event were still intact, as he was killed by the people they have spent months looking for.

I give you the Awakened Servitor class. Tell me what you think; this is a first draft. I'm taking a few liberties with it, but there is precedent for this in Eisenhorn.

Er, I should point out that I wrote this in like two sittings, and it probably needs some XP balancing. I consider it the Dark Heresy equivalent to Deathwatch's Dreadnought class. :)

Sounds absolutely awesome.

I love it. I want to be one :D

One thing, though, maybe hint that the Servitor may have difficulties with his memory (like the Mind-wiped origin?).

But really awesome!

Will see for the XP balance later on.

Thanks for the words of praise, I put a decent amount of thought into it, so I'm glad you like it. I didn't want being a servitor to be a huge punishment to the player, only the character :)

As far as the mind-wipe thing goes, I was going under the assumption that the mind-wipe failed, which is why you actually get to play the servitor, but I could see it partially succeeding and needing intelligence tests to recall things from before you died, much like the Dreadnought...

Thanks again. If you've got any suggestions, lay 'em on me.

That looks like quite a fun advance for a character who has burned his last fate point.
