KH: Each herald/guardian twice ?

By volckaert.jelle, in Arkham Horror Second Edition

Just bought the Kingsport Horror expansion. After opening the box I noticed each herald and guardian has been included twice. No reprints or whatsoever ...

If someone can use the duplicates, just let me know.

That's odd. So you have:

  • Tulzscha
  • Ghroth
  • Bast
  • Hypnos
  • Nodens

Twice each? Want to make sure you're not missing any.

Yes, exactly.

2x Tulzscha, 2x Groth, 2x Bast, 2x Hypnos and 2x Nodens.

That makes 4 faces of each of one (front/rear x 2). Awesome :) Lucky you!

I WAS ABOUT TO SAY THAT. But I was also going to stipulate that that was going to be a waste.

He won't use the Guardians because

A) He doesn't like stuff that makes the game easier. At all. As in, he won't play Epic Battle because there are a couple rare cards that help the investigators.
B) Two of the guardians still require a deck of cards ;)

He won't use the Heralds because

A) He doesn't like using only "part" of an expansion

We need to give him more credit.

Plus, I doubt he got his hands on Daoloth and Ct2lhu

Wow, that's strange.

<_< >_>

2x Hypnos for a morale-boosting game? ^_^

(Unlike Dam, I totally don't mind stuff that makes the game easier. ^_^ )

My guardians are also left in the box most of the time. I remember playing a game with a guardian once.

Most of our games end in a narrow victory/defeat. And there are offcourse the few games the board kicks our asses.
But I like those close encounters. Playing a guardian will make those just a bit less close so we opt to play without them ...

Yeah, I've played a few games with a guardian too. It's called The Lurker at the Threshold :') (c'mon, you had to have seen that coming).

I don't mind playing with them as it doesn't make the game much easier playing with a guardian. Bast's impact is practically non-existent in my games. What's even worse than the guardians is the Lurker herald ( I KNEW Avi would bring this up) who can turn out to be the most helpful guardian of all.
