Mytos Card "unholy presence" and the lock Card "sealed Door"

By MNM79, in Mansions of Madness

Hello everyone,

I´ve bought the game last week and meanwhile we played it two times. In both games we played the first scenario "the fall of house lynch" and it happend that both times the following question appeared.

Spoiler:

The Crypt had the lock card "sealed door" on it which, as i undestand the investigators can´t breake. And so they can´t enter the crypt.

The Mytos card "unholy presence" requires : Crypt Ceremony room, graveyard, chapel or a room with an altar.

My questions are:

1. Is there a pssibility for the investigatros to discard the "sealed door" lock card ? (which i haven´t found)

2. Does this Mytos card require only that one of these rooms is in play or that an investigator is in this room as the requirement to play this card.

I hope i didn´t write it too complicate :D

greetings

1 You can not remove it

2 As I undestrand, you can play that card only at those locations, and an investigator has to be there.

at page 16 of the investigators handbook it says "The keeper may only play mythos cards on investigators who are in one of the listed rooms or are fulfiling the requirement"

okay, thx for the answer .

Thats the way i understand it too.

But then if u choose 2 of the 3 possible answers on question one of the "fall of house lynch" this mytos-card is useless to the keeper and should be removed from the stack. It was quite irretating to draw that card and then, after reading the rules again, thinking ...wait a moment ... hmmm... this one is useless ... ****.

its okay that u cant play it but its like u grab into the loterypot and draw a rivet.

IIRC, Event IV (the one that reveals the Objective) removes all Lock cards from play, so the investigator's can move into the altar room if they want. It's not the only scenario where you'll come across useless Mythos cards, I know in Scen 4 one of the Mythos cards (What Is For Dinner?) requires Kitchen or Dining Room to use and neither room is actually featured in the scenario!

Okay , u are right event IVB takes the sealed lock from the ceremony room and mekes it accessable for the investigators.

allthough with a shoggoth appearing (asuming that the keeper accomplisched his task )right after discarding the locks. there is quite little chance that a investigator visits this place.

u can be a big bad keeper and play UU and Panic to get him there but that would overdo it i think.

Okay but it is possible.

Thanks for the answer.
