Fortune Points reward.. it's a bugged rule :(

By Galdor, in WFRP Rules Questions

Sorry for my complain, but

if I give 1 fortune point (as a reward) to a player character that has already all his maximum fortune points (3), well, he cannot gain that one, because he's at his limit... right?

I think that it's so sad, because I cannot use that reward method, unless a Character has already spent any Fortune Points!! sad.gif

Moreover: at the beginning of each session, when all the PC have their maximum fortune points, well, I can't reward them in any way, and that frustrates them so much! preocupado.gif

What do u think about this issue?

I don't believe it's bugged. The rule discourages players from hoarding fortune points. I have found the game is at its best when the fortune points are flowing. If they aren't, then the character isn't being challenged enough.

At the beginning of the session, you should still be able to reward them since the party fortune pool is empty. (I'm assuming you are using the party pool rather than directly giving out fortune points)

Ok, but I can give out individual fortune points, by Rules... right?

And it's logical: when a single individual PC makes something good I reward only him; when all the group works good I reward the group giving fortune points in Party pool

No, the rules say to award points into the Party pool for an individual's action. As I said in the other thread you posted (named the same), the game is about a Party. If the PC benefits from the Party abilities and socketed talents, then any fortune point awards go to the Party's pool. The entire Party is supposed to benefit from all members playing/doing well. It encourages all members to contribute, as it all helps the group.
