Ok, final rules questions.

By Tyrant242, in Arkham Horror Second Edition

Ok, these should be my last rule questions. If an investigator encounters a skill check roll with a modifier that drops it below zero how does it affect token usage. The situation that occured was that Joe Diamond has to make a lore check at -2. His lore at the time was set to one. So with the negative one result, would I have to use 2 clue tokens, one to raise it to 0 and one to actually get a roll, or does playing a clue just give me a die roll no matter the modifier? Secondly, monsters only move from the sky to a STREET location with the investigator with the lowest sneak correct? That does not include encounter locations as I read it.

I want to thank everyone for their help with these. I am going to introduce my gaming friends to this delight this weekend and I am trying to get all the possible kinks worked out before they play.

a clue token always give you an extra die. so if you had -1, you get one die (effectively giving you the equivalent of +1 instead), and if you had -3, you still get one die (still +1), or if you had +3, you yet again get one (extra) die. thus a will of 1 against a monster with -3 horror check is probably even better than a will of 3, since you can use those extra fight dice, but the horror check still would need just a single clue token to get one die..

correct, flying monsters only land on the street areas, not in locations.

Cool that is what I thought but I wanted to make absolutely sure. Many thanks. Now I go off to see if I can keep Azathoth from showing up.
