FLUFF/Background

By Peacekeeper_b, in Dust Tactics

Is there a good website or book to get the background fluff for Dust? Something more then the one page overview Ive found so far?

I get much more interested in setttings and games when I have information about the setting.

dust-models.com/products.php these is everything I know, except of the comics.

There is a TPB for the 2 series of comics and I found mine on Barnes and Noble and the book also has a lot of imagery for different units in the back of the book

Totaly agree.

This game really needs to expand the story line element. Its alternative WW2 and it needs padding to get people into the universe. The game is simple and based upon lots a rapid play games in a campaign mode. It really needs the story element to keep the campaign going. The starter set campaign is fun, but it under sells it potential. Its a bit plain jane as is the cyclone expansion. Its the world of aliens, zombies and Nazi's (or ex Nazi's), a bit more in mistery, missing scientists and terrible secrets weapons.

I just recently bought the original box set and did a little opening ceremony at my FLG as nobody had seen the contents before. I can tell you that we loved the mechs, not so crazy about the two piece soldiers and were underwhelmed by the lack of fluff. Is there more fluff in the expansions like when did history fly off the tracks, who is running the Axis powers, who is running the Allied powers. This seems like a world you could create a huge amount of backstory for and I just have not been able to find it.

No, there is not a lot of info, just the very confusing comics. Don't know if the Dust boardgame has any more detail, does it?

There is a good source book available at dust-models.com.

I haven't read the second comic series but the first series is just cheescake and no substance. To be honest, not sure if there is any real dedicated heavy detailed background that I know of.

Oh no! The sourcebook is only crap. The english is worse than mine and the timeline is obsolete. Some nice pictures in it, I agree.

All in all, not worth the money.

But I agree, this Game needs more fluff. There“s a very good matrix already there, so they should fill it with life.

I think you will like the FLUFF in Operation SeeLowe!

+1! See Lowe has lots of nice history of what is going on!

The fluff in the sourcebook is lacking but it has some cool artwork and hints at things to come. The comics were OK but had good artwork (especially the first series). Oddly most of the best fluff is in the Dust Modelling books...problem is only the first one has been translated into english. There are some good accounts of the production/ field testing of the Luther and various battles on the Eastern and Western front. Also goes into some detail about the first large scale deployment of the Luther at the bulge letting the germans reach Antwerp.
