using spacehulk board game tiles for anti-boarding action.

I am trying to come up with what the engine compartment might look like, in a ship. I have enough tiles but really need an idea what what it might look like.

I've been on a few so holpefully this helps.

They are always different. But remeber, space is almost always at a premium. And the engines are big, and have lots and lots of smaller supporting machines around the space, like cooling pumps, and air filters, water purifiers etc and lots of pipes and cabling to support all these. The spaces should be hot and very noisey. Some are quite clean actually, but most are at least a bit grubby, and many are downright filthy - this depends a lot on you crew quality and vessel age I guess. There will be main propulsion engines, and generator engines. There will be heat vents and there will be mezzanine catwalks. In a 40K ship these might cover many levels. There will probably be lots of nooks and crannys, inspection hatches/windows and crawlspaces. Lots of control panels scattered around. There will be both fixed firefighting systems and portable firefighting gear. There will probably also be some damage control equipment, like gear for plugging cracks and breaches and pipes. There may be escape hatcches, and survial gear like emergency breathing apparatus. The floor may be steel mesh decking so that any spilled liquids (okay it's 40k so it won't be diesel but you'll still need coolants etc) and there should be bilges underneath to catch it all. Obviously there needs to be some way for the power to act, so take this into account as well; obviously not a crank-shaft though!

HOT, NOISEY AND CROWDED!
