After playing a few sessions, my friends had said they really did not like to play since it was too hard to hit the enemy. I considered switching it to the d20 system, but then that would be too much like DnD. Does anyone have any way to make it a bit easier to hit the enemy without taking away any of the aspect of the game?

Full auto fire or Short (maybe even point blank) range modifier or aiming action. Alternatively some equipmentlike red-dot laser sight.
BS of 30 is normal. With +20 for full auto and +10 for short you have a 60% to hit. Not bad.
Or you take a half action aim and then do a standard attack with 50%.
In melee, you can go all-out attack for +20 or aim and attack with +10. All that gets easier as you climb the ranks.
That said, Rank 1 Acolytes are like level 2 D&D PCs: they can't do much right and are fairly fragile. Starting at rank 2 or 3 is always an option. In essence, DH challenges the players to try to accumulate positive modifiers to skill rolls.

As AK-73 points out, combat in DH is very situational and it is always in the best interest of your party to use modifiers, enhanced weapons, semi-auto attacks, range, etc. to their advantage.
Using Aim actions, semi-auto, laser sites, and accurate weaponry can add +30 to an attack even before you calculate bonuses for short or point blank range, attacking from higher ground, and multiple attackers firing (or swinging) at the same target. Then you work in flanking, attacking an opponent unawares, use of stun grenades ...
When all the modifiers add up your players have a better chance of hitting than they would in a d20 game ... combat in DH is meant to be approached tactically and does not reward those who simply stand still and shoot back.
I invented a talent I call "Center body mass shooting"; available for around 100xp.
This talent will give an additional +10 if the "Aim" action (full or half) was used with it, but a successful attack always hits the body.
Some questions form my site:
Did you take into account range modifiers? Most combats are in shorter range, so the shots are +10 per se.
Did the pc used a half aim action? No matter what, it is another +10
...unless you spend a full round for auto-fire (+10 or +20)
Red-Dots are your friends as well
Or restart the game end
--> allow them characters build without roling the pc but with providnig them a 100 points to contribute to their "basi and another +5 points in all of their "prime attributs" (those which first increase only costs 100xp)
--> and make them all start out with 1000xp (Rank 3) so they do not fell so completely incompetent (which Rank 1 - 2 characters actually are!)
In colse combat haveing Best Quality weapons also adds +10 to hit, something as simple as a Best Quality Mono-Sword can work wonders at the lower levels and at the higher a Best Quality Chain- or Power Sword are amongst the best Close combat weapons in the game.
an examble in close combat: an acolyte (WS: 30), with a Best Quality weapon (+10), aiming (+10) or All Out Attack (+20) makes for a WS of 50 or 60, this can easily be increased futher, outnumbering an enemy 2 to 1 with the aid of another (+10 or +20 if the character has Douple Team) fighting from higher ground (+10) that makes between a WS of 70 and 90 easily enough to hit.
the Acolyte could also surprise the target (+20) or stun him with stun grenades or specific talents (+20).
an examble in range combat: an acolyte (BS: 30), with a standard lasgun with Red-Dot Laser sight (+10 to hit on single shot), aims (+10 or +20 if douple aiming), firing at a target on short range (+10) thats already a BS of 60 or 70
another range combat: an acolyte (BS: 30), with an autogun fires full auto (+20) at a target at blank point range (+30) already has a BS of 80
and there is of course the always popular choice of buying increased BS and WS.
Simple fix:
Increase base WS/BS (or all the characteristics for that matter) by 5-10 or more.
Should make it easier to hit

+1, it's an easy fix. Either treat your players as super elite or increase most of the characters by 5 or 10.
If you have the characters do static target shooting (+30 to hit a static target) as a bit of practise they'll realise that there are a lot of bonuses to be had. That's a good time to give them a WS/BS bonus if they need it.
