Multiple/Stacking explosions

By amy16, in Dark Heresy Rules Questions

First of all I'm really sorry if this question has been asked and ansvered before, but I tried doing a search about it and scrolled the list trought without finding any similiar topics.

So are my questions:

Are there any rules for multiple grenades or other explosives simultaneously going off?

How much does the area of explosion expand for every similar explosive added?

How much more damage do the explosives do together rather than they would if they were counted as separate damage sources?

If none of this is answered in the rulebooks, would anyone be interested in making a sensible houserule for this?

Thanks beforehand

Amy

*has sudden flashbacks of the Chunky Salsa rules for grenades in Shadowrun..*

Yes my reply has no real bearing or point, but from MPoV i'd say add little to no expansion on the explosion radius, but for every additional grenade that manages to wound the character increase the damage by 2.

Players shouldnt be abe to walk away from a slew of grenades going off at the same time in their faces unless they're in Power Armour or TDA suits.

mmmm chunky salsa....

There are rules for using quantities of actual explosives and det tape, but nothing I've seen for grenades. Might take a look and do something similar, increasing damage/blast size by weight of grenades used.

TDA suits?

Tactical Dreadnought Armour: Terminator suits

Any details on them outside the novels?

Most nids dont have a hard time cutting through them, but in general they are "made of win".

Hopefully Official rules for them will come out in Rogue Trader or the subsequent book..

nids?

lalalallaalalla

Tyranids. genestealers etc

Thank you for your suggestion on how to handle multiple grenades Velvetears .

I'm quite sure I'm not the only one that would be more than happy if you would take the time and effort it takes to make some kind of a table/rule based on the actual explosive rules Letrii .

And if anyone else has an opinion or just feels like they would like to comment, please do so.

I would think Velvetears means Tyranids with 'nids. Disgusting xenomorph locust hybrids. (If the question was asked in a sarcastic sense then ignore this line happy.gif )

I would simply work out each grenade's damage on the character individually, just as if they had been hit by multiple shots from different gun wielding enemies.

Keep it as simple as possible. If you start coming up with complicated rules, they will become even more so if you start mixing different types of grenades that have overlapping blast areas.

I'll take a look and see what I can work out, hopefully can have it ready by Monday.

Here's what I came up with. PEACH

Background rules: Can be tied in bundles of up to 5 grenades. If using different types of grenades, resolve individually, else use modifiers below. If bundling together in combat, takes 1Full. Missiles do not benefit from these modifiers.

Blind

Smoke +1m and round of duration per extra grenade

Choke

Blast +1 per extra grenade

Fire

Damage +5 per extra 2 grenades

Blast +1 per extra 2 grenades

Frag

Damage +5 per extra grenade

Blast +1 per extra grenade

Inferno

Damage +5 per extra 2 grenades

Krak

Damage +5 per extra grenade

Mark III

Damage + per extra grenade

Blast + per extra grenade

Stun

Damage -10 to test per extra grenade

Thank you Letrii, your the best corazon.gif

Our group loves the rules you came up with. aplauso.gif

I second this. A bouquet of 3 grenades go off, you get hit 3 times.

There are no rules needed for Terminator armour.

Rule of thumb#1: People in Terminator armour are indestructible.

Rule of thumb#2: The GM may suspend rule#1 as needed for drama.
