Base Game: Rule Questions

By Toasty719, in Tide of Iron

I have two questions in regards to some of the possible events that can happen in a Tide of Iron game.

My first question is what would happen if a concealed squad moved from a covered terrain out into to open and then back into a blocking terrain while crossing an enemies line of site? Would this squad immediately become revealed when it enters the line of site or is it revealed when it ends its movement in the enemies line of sight?

My second questions is about assaulting. What would happen if one squad were to assault one disrupted squad in another hex? Would the disrupted squad even be able to fight back or would they be overrun and destroyed?

Thank you for your support!

1. Rules say "If at any time a concealed squad is within LOS of an enemy unit and is not located in cover-providing terrain ", and "any time" clearly includes while it is moving. So you could use Opportunity Fire on it in the clear hex.

2. A disrupted squad does not roll any attack dice in melee (though it might get defense dice for any cover it possesses). Note also that if forced to retreat it is eliminated.

If the attacker rolls at least one success that is not canceled by a defense die, the disrupted squad will be eliminated. The rules state that the attacker wins if he manages to score more hits that the defender. Since the defender cannot score any hits in this case, one hit is enough for the attacker. The same goes for an assault against double mortars alone in a hex, even if there are three double mortars, as long as there is no other disrupted infantry or light vehicle in the hex.

Thank you both very much for answering my questions. You have cleared up some of the debates we were having at the table.
