Commit one podcast UFS SOTG/Q&A February 2009:

Hey guys if you haven’t heard first off check out our interview with Steve Horvath part 1 now posted on the UFS community section.

Now we are getting ready for our first episode for the UFS February SOTG /Q&A with Steve so post any questions you might have. If we don’t get to your questions we do apologize but we do only have 45 minutes to an hour but it will be asked in another episode.

Thanks,
Commit one podcast team.

Could you please stop spamming the goddamned forums?

Thanks.

Yes please. Nothing wrong with having a podcast, but I really don't need to read about it all the time.

And if you do post _again_ about this sort of thing, consider including a link.

You might recall that FFG's new website is complete crap, and you have to follow an unintuitive series of links just to find the page with the podcast links.

Sorry if it was like Spam I was just getting these out now for anyone who wants question for the guests we are interviewing for February .

Yeah but not only have you been advertising in other threads but you've started MULTIPLE threads about your podcasts. It's great and all, but last I checked, on the old forums mods deleted multiple threads about the same topic.

we usually do. unless they take so much space that you just can't ignore it

scuba, you have a sticky. Not even the Tournament Rules in the Q&A section has a sticky. USE THE STICKY

mastermajora said:

The problem is 25% of the threads on the front page are currently about the podcast.

Including what wafflecopter said... "the sticky"

It's great that they're doing this, but the fact that scuba is smacking us over the head with this repeatedly is a little bit of overkill.

It'd be great if it didn't happen every single time Scuba is involved in something.

yo, you guys need to back off, way off, and here's why.

1. even if scuba is making more than one thread about something, at least it's something positive and something that wants to grow the game. Not complain like most of you forum chodes do.

2. this podcast is here to help the game and promote the game, when is the last time any of you promoted the game outside of your local card shop. We at the commit one podcast team are trying to make more people aware of ufs. If you don't want that to happen then perhaps you should stop making "Multiple posts" instead of threads with nothing but your negative nancy, debbie downer BS.

3. UFS is supposed to be fun and we are trying to help you guys get it back fun, we are asking steve some hard-core questions. these podcasts aren't like they uset to be, where it's just random. these podcasts are here to help and promote ufs.

4. SHUT UP.

that is all,

Scott

We're talking about the same podcast that was bitching about people in one of their latest editions, right? With the very same team that I bailed because they were insulting the people that play this game, correct? It really warms the heart to know that spamming the forums, so long as it's Scuba doing it, is perfectly legit.

Scott - People aren't being negative. They're asking him just to ease up in the amount of the posts over the forum about it.

Right now I'm running a writing contest where people can win prizes for writing articles about UFS.

I've posted about it three or four times over the last month while the contest has been running. I understand moderation, and not trying to force things down peoples throats.

Again, if I'd have anything of value to say, I'd have sent a submission to it already (or to Vik's site - either/or).

Not to be rude or anything, but isn't promoting UFS on a UFS forum a bit redundant?

Considering the tone of his post, it probably is, but he doesn't care.

Or, to put it in three words and an image...

NOW TESTIFY~!

I don't really see a problem with this, each thread was actually about something different. Each thread was for asking questions for each different episode/guest. I mean I yeah you could do it all in one thread but I think it's easier doing a separate thread for each one. If you don't like it just like any other thread, ignore it. There are a lot more totally useless threads on here then these.

i'm negative to you guys, just like you guys are to us. and we are not promotoing it on here. when our website launches we are going to hit up all kinds of fourms, websites etc.

and like jdub said scuba's threads were about dif things. all you guys do on the fourms is cry about this cry about that. at least we are doing something to get positive things going for ufs and once again what happened? people post crap about well quit posting so much, etc. why do you guys cry about that all the time?? this podcast is for everyone to hear steve horvath talking about the game, fred erhart, omar's interview which is coming soon etc.

so why do you guys always put stuff down from the get go instead of giving it a chance. i.e. scuba's threads about DIF things.

With all do respect, that's like Walmart posting eight posts about eight sales on eight different products. Same store, and all the sales could easily be compounded into th Sticky that was appairantly given to him.

You're not "negative", you're insulting. I can be insulting as well, but I'd get the smackdown. Favoritism much?

Except these threads are asking for different questions that YOU want to ask certain guests, not some announcement like "oh here is whats on sale".

Except they could have been posted in different time frames as opposed to all at the same time, and in fact, could have replaced the freaking sticky as well. Imagine that - a Q&A post for the next Podcast that's stickied and not buried by other topics. You know, one that might get read? As much as I absolutely detest the mere idea of said podcast gaining any sort of legitimity ('cause it feels like they're getting rewarded for insulting the playerbase in the episodes before they landed the interview), I'm glad it's around even if I'm not gonna listen to it ever. What I don't like is having 4 threads (excluding sticky) on the main page of the forums for no reason other than "Scuba's the one handling it."

Am I the only one that remembers the metric ton of threads the SAS spawned directly because of Scuba before the actual tournament (and after we got something like way too much report threads, which may have influenced the addition of a tournament report board)? Noting the way people've been acting recently, since it's not a post by some of the more pessimistic members of the board, spamming is perfectly legit, whereas others who have that image stuck to their foreheads cannot even post two times before getting insulted. WHAT A GREAT COMMUNITY! Then again, not surprising that those who are part of the podcast are amongst those who've slung personal attacks, seeing as it's the main thing I've been disliking about it anyway.
