Who cares about a 3D expansion anyways? I played 3rd edition quite a bit and I have to admit that the Dragon Tower just got in the way. Yes, the dragon on top looked great and the concept was great, but it was a bit of a hassle.

• First off, it was a giant object in the middle of the board that you always had to work around during the game. The whole point of a board game is the interactions you have with friends. Otherwise, we'd all be playing a computer version of this game...which doesn't sound much fun to me. Looking around and reaching around that thing got a little annoying.

• Second, the dragon that sat at the top was very top heavy. On several occasions the dragon was knocked off because someone was reaching for their character on the other side of the board or the claws or wingtips caught on someone's sleeve. That kind of sucks when you spend as much time painting this stuff as I do. We ended up taking to dragon off the board while we played and eventually started taking the entire Dragon Tower off while be played.

• Finally, I don't know how everyone else plays, but we stack all of our Adventure cards, Spell cards and their discard piles in the middle of the table so everyone can reach them. I don't think that'll be an issue with this expansion, but it was with the Dragon Tower.

Anyways, this looks very promising! I hope that the Holy Lance will finally be useful with this expansion.

If memory serves there is quite a few weapons in the 2nd edition dragons that add strength bonuses when you are specifically up against a dragon, so holy lance will not be alone.

Brilliant! I've been waiting ages for an update - then I missed it...

Perhaps with the 6 inner region spaces there will be only one way round, so you have to encounter all 6 on your way to the end. In the current version much of the inner region isn't a challenge by the time we go for it - once you've cracked the mines or crypt, you are ready to take on the battles/vampire. So it will be refereshing to have new takes on the inner region.

Hi, I´m new on these forums but I have been playing Talisman for quite a while.

This new expansion looks very cool. But why are some guys here thinking that it´s only six spaces on the new board. I think it looks like eight as before.

Just want to show face and announce that I'm excited too

I just bought Talisman last week and I already own The Reaper, The Sacred Pool and The Dungeon and I should receive The Frostmarsh by mail in a couple of weeks. The only one I don't have is The Highland but most certainly will end up buying it soon hahah!

Love this game, it's great with sober and with almost dead drunk people hahahah!!!!! We were in the later case on our first 2 games last sunday!

If you look closer you will see that the Crown of Command is a well defined space (a lighter line separates it from the usual Pitfiends space, which is also separated from the usual Valley of Fire). We do not see very well what's on the Valley of Fire and Pits but if my eyes serve well I notice that Plain of Peril is still there, that we have a Dragon-something Mine and a Dragon-something Crypt, that Dice-with-Death is replaced by a Blue Dragon sitting on a treasure hoard, that Vampire's Tower is replaced by a Black Dragon, that the Werewolf is replaced by a three-headed Red Dragon.

I hope there will be some new mechanic for all of this, but no doubt there are still 8 spaces. The only missing line is between Valley of Fire and Crown of Command, but perhaps is just a matter of image resolution.

Yeah, it seems there is indeed a dragon crypt...

And it looks like that the volcano with the green stuff has somewhat the same text like the mines.

So maybe that they keep the same idea...

I am wondering how the race of the 3 dragon lords will work.

Maybe that the tokens will be used which dragon has the upper hand to be crowned as the new Dragon King

i am looking forward how the dragon lords will invade the talisman board +regions.. with their cards.

This will make it a excited and dangerous journey.

Also, what will happen when you kill Lord of Darkness - wil you still go directly to crown of command evading all the "dragon stuf" ?

Well, i think that you can still go to the crown of command space.

But if there was a whole tower in the inner region, then i would say that you must begin at the beginning of that tower.

I don't know if this board will use the same idea, but we will see it soon...

I really like how closely he's approximated the other boards. The dragon on the bottom seems like it has 5 heads....Tiamat-style! The green dragon above the mines seems to have enslaved humans....cool....kinda reminds me of the Scouring of the Shire scenes that never made it into the LOTR movies....

We are almost to the third quarter now, although I doubt that it will be out before late August.

Those new minis seems to be of better quality than previuos minis Reminds me that I want to be sculpting minis again... but I now have these new cool minis to paint first
