It's simply a different older pattern of lightning claw. Chaos mostly uses them. I'm not sure if they need different rules, but Razer Sharp is probably a little over the top
I believe the multiclaw rules are now gone, as of latest errata. It simplifies matters.
I'd just use them as lightning claws.
No, the rules for aditional damage per degrees of success still exist. Only the damage tables were changed. The Errata did not delete any of the special rules the weapons have.
really? i thought lightening claws just had a new trait affecting min dam if they still have the chance to do extra damage based on degrees of success they are awesome
My thoughts exactly.
*checks*
Yup.
Herichimo: The errata table no longer has 'special' listed under the weapon qualities, indicating that there is no longer a special rule for them. Now you just get Proven (4) and a power field. Makes sense, as it speeds up play a bit.
Do mind that these are optional and not used in further books, they still use the old stats....
What is that abbaddon made from?
pure win and the stuff of chaos
The Abbadon is from Forge World but it´s out of production since years
Until the paragraph and the rules in it are errata'd out they still apply.
Errata: a list of errors and their corrections inserted, usually on a separate page or slip of paper, in a book or other publication; corrigenda.
No 'special' rule mentioned on table = no special rule used. It's pretty obvious what RAI is to my mind, and it seems sensible that the cumbersome old rule has been replaced with a simpler one, rather than the weapon just being made more uber; but if your GM lets you get away with the old rule AND using Proven as well, then good luck to you. But quoting a dictionary definition to support your case isn't convincing me!

I do not really agree on that, as they have never been very good at being firm with these special rules listings. Just look at Plasma and Melta weapons in the corebook. Neither has "special" or anything to indicate that they both have quite special rules, which are only listed when you read the weapon descriptions.
But I realize that Lightning Claws does have "special" in the corebook, which have now been removed. But I'd still like an official reply on whether this was intended or not, before it is set in stone though
I'd have to say I would treat the Power Talon as a pre-heresy design of the Lightning Claw, and that the current version came about due to the fact that the technology was lost during the Horus Heresy (maybe add the Proven [3] trait to represent this facet?), or that it was simply abandoned in favour of the current model...
Failing that, the closest in the WH40k RPG line is the Power Klaw in the Ork Technology subsection, within the Extended Armoury chapter of Into the Storm for RT (p. 144).

Are you sure there isn't an errata to the errata coming?
