[Lil“Rant] ARRrrgh! The DW got the Lacrymole! (DW: Mark of the Xenos)

By Gregorius21778, in Dark Heresy

Greetings, brethern,

if you are a little older and digged through most of the GW publications that where every up, you might have heared of some ShapeChanging kind named "Lacrymole".

Since "Mark of the Xenos" is already offically on sale as a PDF, I was able to get a look the index of this books as part of a "sample".

Besides Tau, Orks and Tyrnids (for whom I do not care) and some heretics and chaos related foes, the book feautures in the "Other Xenos" Section

Bruul Parasites (?)
Crotalid (yes, I have read you once in an WhiteDwarf)
Diablodon (sounds like a dinosaur...naaaaaaa)
Lacrymole (!)
Loxatl Mercenaries

Know, I pounder and bounce around and off the wholes if I shall or shall not by a $20 PDF just to get an assortment of five potentiall tasty Xenos (covered on 8 pages in total).

**** it...I so wished that WE would get the Lycromole one day...but since they are one of these "and special guest starring" xeno types I do not think that they will be re-printed in all three/four product lines (like certain daemons and/or the orks)

I don't think DH has lost out hugely with the Lacrymole, really. The Simulcra from Creatures Anathema is a far creepier shapechanging beastie, in my opinion!

Well if we get DW stats for the Lacrymole we can ofcourse use them in Dark Heresy.

Only 5 new(ish) xenos? That's disappointing. I'm much less interested in expanding the "common" xenos (who's base stats already exist, from which the varient types can be easily extrapolated) than I am in brand new ones. I would have thought that FFG would have followed the example of D&D's Monster Manuals, with a new compendium of xenos and beasts coming out once a year or so. Instead, new monsters have been debuting at a very slow trickle...

Which is not the stance that quite a few 40k players I know take. They don't care about new creatures until every single thing that's ever been on the TT has been statted for at least one of the systems.

Personally I'm just happy with content in general.
