Losing an Aim order from

By Kartigan13, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

Basically, does this include movement actions? My feeling is no, it does not except for re-equipping, since the Aim rules specifically list that one. Thus a hero would not lose an Aim order from opening a door, drinking a potion, etc. A little more oddly this means a hero could Aim while in town, then step out onto the glyph still keeping the Aim order, or do the same thing with a staircase. Where it really gets odd is jumping a pit or other obstacle, which is listed as a movement action, yet clearly is changing your space. Then again, so is a staircase or moving to/from town.....

Anyone have any thoughts on this? My feeling is that the heroes don't lose the Aim from any movement actions, but that feels a little weird in the case of staircases, town, and especially jumping pits. Is this just another weird quirk in the Descent RAW? Or is there some relevant FAQ/GLOAQ that I am missing (really looking forward to those two being in one spot)?

Aim
... An aim order stays with a hero until removed by one of the following events: 1) the hero takes one or more wounds, 2) the hero moves one or more spaces , 3) the hero changes his equipped items, or 4) the hero uses the order to make an aimed attack.

Movement actions are not a relevant thing to keep track off.
Moving one or more spaces is . It does not matter whether you moved the space through spending MP or through making a movement action. If you move spaces, you lose the aim order.

Thus, using a glyph to enter or exit the dungeon, using a staircase or jumping will all cause you to lose the AIm order because you have moved one or more spaces . You are not in the same space as you were before.

Opening a door or drinking a potion do not cause an Aim order to be lost. None of the 4 conditions to lose it have been met.

Thanks for the answer Corbon, I think what got me off-track was that I wasn't thinking of the town marker as a "space" to be changed from. But a space is pretty much anything your hero can be standing on and your explanation makes sense. Thanks again.

I don't think the town marker is a space. But even if the hero was in no-space before, if he is in a space after then he has moved, and at least moved one space worth, since he was occupies an entire space that he did not occupy before.
