Called by the Conclave

Mask of the Archmaester

I'm missing a couple small pieces of info for Mask of the Archmaester that my unsteady camera work cut off so if any one sees any errors please let me know. I also entered these in after being awake for about 23 hours so hopefully I mostly managed to type correctly.

Awesome, Darksbane!

Could you write which cards are unique? (except obvious ones)

I remember that the "reveal star" attachment is unique. ~I guess that balances it out.

The Maester events from the Mask of the Archmaester Chapter Pack are brutal. I really like We Light the Way the most, though Restrict and Restrain is interesting. I wonder if We Light the Way will make Valar Doehris be used more a la the Nick-ler's play in the LCG Days Melee (see 2Champs1Chump Melee Podcast).

Additionally, The Mad Mouse our of Stark Direwolves or Stark Siege looks interesting as well. Its very balanced as a one-shot power grab.

And, am I reading it wrong or are some of the cards' flavor text from the newest book? I'm looking at you Archmaester Marwyn.

Great, I received uncut from Singapore so in the next days i will upload also remaining sets of the cycle.

Some of the Cards are absolutely brutal! Rickon Stark will be amazing with To be a Wolf, Family, Duty Honor, Widow's Watch, the Summoning/Building/Attachment season cards etc. Mind you, he'll probably mean that you'll never ever be chosen in melee for Building/summoning/attachment season because you'll just get too much crap.

He would copy the whole effect of summoning season/building season, so if your opponent chose you they would also get a second card.

Yep sorry, Unique identifier added to the cards.

Holy...!

Um... the only card list I can access here at work is Rogue30's (I think it is anyway, sorry if I am crediting the wrong person). I'm going to have to verify this later, but is this really how Dragon Lore is printed?
Marshalling: Kneel Dragon Lore and kneel attached character to reduce the cost of the next Dragon character you play this phase to 0.
It doesn't say "put a Dragon character into play for 0 cost" - cause right now it looks like there is finally a way to play Balerion for free and have his effect go off...

Uploaded this to google so hopefully you can see it.

Wow, Balerion is going to be played.

If I'm reading Dragon Lore correctly, that would also apply to ambushed in Dragons, as long as you do it during marshalling, correct?

Now can we please errata Maester Aemon so he can have this attachment? :)

Thank you Darksbane.
And it's in-House and doesnt have that awful Condition keyword! At the Gates + Attaching Season (er... I mean Spending the Winter Stores) means Round 2 Balerion is a very realistic possibility, using Heralds or other deck search makes it even more likely.

@Kennon: Yeah, could be pretty fun with Balerion :) Doesn't even have to be a Targ maester, so a cheap 1-gold maester would do it :)

Thank god. That wouldn't leave us with a lot of options :)

House Targ only and Maester Character only eh?

Looks like this + Apprentice Collars are the way to go for the moment.

It can still be an out-of-house Maester. You just have to play it with a Targ house card.

Or Rhaegar's Harp.

I think that card's going on the restricted list... haven't we learned making big gigantic cards cost 0... is a bad thing for the environment.

Granted Balerion kneels all non-dragon stuff... great for triggering all those links.

And if you have a Copper Link on the same Maester, you can give your best character the Dragon trait...

Am I the only one who kind of feels like FFG might have to increase the amount of cards that comes in a Chapter Pack or even release two Chapter Packs per month soon? It just seems a lot of Deck options aren't getting much love except for every other Chapter Pack. Yeah, some cards work in multiple ways for various decks... But I enjoy straight-up cards that say who they benefit the most.

I don't know. Maybe I'm in the very tiny amount of people who think like this.

Ambush is a "put into play" effect, so this wouldn't apply. But to be clear, this reduces the cost, so it doesn't really matter...does it? I mean, when playing a dragon is free, why would you prefer to ambush it?

You could marshal first, then ambush in a dragon after your opponent is done spending his gold. But yeah, I don't think Dragon Lore would work with ambush.

That was my thought, but on second read, I think you're both right that it wouldn't work with ambush.

Here's the thing, though, as awe-inspiring a card as Balerion is, I'm also more excited for this card for use with the QoD Dragons.
