Dealing with the Miloslav

So, my group has a fancy new ship with a Miloslav H-616.b Warp Engine from BK. A really interesting and characterful option.

However, how do you run races through the warp with it? I'm not sure how any main race against other RTs will work given that the Miloslav halves travel time. There are more warp problems, but those by themselves don't seem like they'd offset this difference unless they get really bad. How do you use the Miloslav without it making all races a non issue?

Did you up the wwarp encounter rate.

Because the Miloslav is the safest warp engine out there currently.

Yes its a broken piece of Chaos spawn currently.

I think the idea of races against other Rogue Traders (as in Lure of the Expanse) is already pretty troubled by the massive differences in trouble times based on Navigator rolls. Take a 50 day standard journey - a good roll results in it taking as little as 12.5 days, while a bad roll can lead to a journey time of 200 days. I don't see that halving the travel time (very useful as it is) will have a huge effect on this scale. The downside of more frequent encounters isn't really a huge disadvantage; as journey time is halved the number of encounters isn't really different, you just get less breathing room in between them.

In order to give NPC vessels a chance when racing, they need a competent NPC Navigator. I'm thinking of creating new Acquisitions for key ship positions that can be bought at Good or Best quality to get a +10 or +20 bonus to Crew Rating in that area - primarily for use on NPC vessels to save me having to create detailed NPCs all the time.
