I'm looking for a group or place to play in the Chicagoland area. I'm new to the card game and to living card games in general but am a huge fan of the series. Looking for a group that's willing to bear with me and show me the ropes. I live in the city in the South Loop and my summer schedule is relatively flexible. I can also host the occasional game. Any suggestions or advice on how to get started would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Small groups in Chicagoland area?
There is a Regional happening at Galactic Force on Belmont. I have no idea what kind of meta or players there are in the area.
There are about 3 of us from all over the area that play fairly regularly, usually in the Vernon Hills area (which is roughly central).
Essentially, most efforts to get a regular meta together in the area have been frustrated by a number of reasons.
Is the Galactic Force regional just Joust at Noon or is there melee as well? Any idea how many people might be playing (thinking about driving up from Indy to play)?
As far as regionals go I've never played in an organized tournament as I've just played with my wife and friends in casual games. As a noob I'm worried I'd hold up the game. Small groups that are willing to meet and learn with a small group and brush up on some things first though. When do you guys play in Vernon Hills?

I just started playing not too long ago myself Bbleers, so I'm much in the same boat, but hey, gotta start somewhere in the competitive scene. As far as the Chicago regional at Galactic Force, they actually don't have a single thing about it on their website from what I can tell, the only mention of it I've found is here on the FF website as a news item from March. I guess I'll give them a call and see if I can't get more information and start a thread specifically about it, definitely curious who if anyone from these boards will be there...
