Fun Medieval and Renaissance Weapons and how to convert them to WHFRP 3e

By The Strolling Bones, in Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay

This is a thread dedicated to the discussion of Medieval to Renaissance era weapons and how they fit into the Old World. Their construction and utility, where you see them being used in games of WHFRP, and ideas on profiles for these weapons.

I'll start:

The Pistol Sword~ I know this feels alot like Final Fantasy 8 but these weapons are real and I think they fit the flavor that games of Warhammer offer.

These fancy weapons differ from rifles with bayonet's in that the blade portion of the weapon is considered the primary weapon. The blade is attached usually below the barrel of the pistol and tends to be used more for cutting and slashing than thrusting. The pistol itself tends to be a single shot, barrel loaded weapon deadly at close range.

Pistol Sword~ DR: 4(melee) / 5(ranged); CR: 3(melee) / 2(ranged); Range: Melee / Close(ranged); Qualities: Peirce 1, Reload, Unreliable 2; Cost: 8g; Enc: 3; Rarity: Exotic

These weapons would most likely be employed by pistoleer troupes, especially highly funded ones, who would employ them as their last weapon after emptying their brace of pistols into the opponent. Using the blade to slash their foes once the melee occurs.

The link that follows should take you to a picture of one of the many possible types of Pistol Sword as most would be handcrafted and unique.

Let me know what you guys think of this weapon and please feel free to bring your own weapons and suggestions on how to employ them into our games of Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay 3e.
