Quick question regarding spells and followers fighting in your place

By Persiatic, in Talisman Rules Questions

Hi there

I just wanted to see if we are playing it right in this sort of scenarios:

Player A announces that he want to battle Player B. Player B then throws the phoenix spell (or any other similar spell) to fight in his place. Player A wins the fight over the phoenix. Now does it all end or does Player get to take a reward from Player B?

Also is it the same thing with followers like Champion fighting in your place?

Yes by playing these spells or using those followers you cannot lose, even if the victor wins he will simply kill your follower, he cannot take any reward from you. This might even save your warhorse if you have one.

Tnx for the answer, well then we have been playing it right from start.

These **** casters are so freaking powerful if you have all the expansions spells. Sometimes I really feel sorry when everyone except 1 char draw casters and he tries to go around pounding the week casters but instead get's toadified, lightning boalted, evaded and what not.
