By kpmccoy22, in 1. AGoT General Discussion

Where and when are they being held? They aren't listed with the US Regionals. Are they during May and June? Inquirirng minds want to know.

So National Championship are somewhere in FFG, i don't really know where but i see it...

4 2011 June Finnish National

2-3-4-5 June 2011 French Championship Lyon

18 June 2011 Italian National

July 2011 "regional Paris"

August 2011 Austrian National

10-11 Septembre 2011"Régional Swiss"

18-20 Octobre 2011 Championnat d'Europe Stahleck (ALL)

Novembre 2011 "Régional Nantes"

Novembre 2011 "regional Tours

So i will post things about Régional Lille today (just have to work a bit before) and add date of the National Italy and Spainif gualdo don't do it before.

We have not a lot of information about french championship, cause if french guy share lot of thing in their forum (i mean really, we post something that half of our competitive deck) before FC there is a time when everybody is a bit secret.

ANs i will post explanation about french tournament every one or two weeks to explain it to people who can't imagine how we have such time ^^

Stahleck is November 18-20.

The Finnish National is June 4.

The Austrian National should be in late August, AFAIK. I'm sure Thorondor will post the date when it's definitive.

Another thing: I'd really, really appreciate it if the dates of the European tourneys could be posted in the Organized Play section of these boards. And not only the big ones, the smaller ones too. It's not like I can travel abroad to play Thrones on a regular basis, but I might have the opportunity sometime, and I wouldn't want to miss it for a lack of communication.

Alternatively, there could be a European tourney calendar on agotcards. That'd be nifty. Gualdo, should I ask for that over on agotcards?

Anyway, I'd still appreciate it if the info could be made available here, too.

An Event section is already planned for future releases, anyway, add a post on the developer blog so we keep trace of your request

So here are the result of the regional Lille, happened in 23/24 April 2011

So now a bit explanation of how we play tournament....

There are TO in some big city (big meta in fact) like Lyon , Paris, Lille, Tours, Nantes, Genova,... We call them Night's Watch.

Most of the times, there are at least 2 Night's watch in the same meta, and they organise a tournament every month, so they are why we have tournament every week. These tournament are not very big, so only people from the same meta come, and they are not all coming for all tournament, but it's open to evry one. That's why there is only 8 to 16 people in these half monthly tournament. But sometimes , people come from Swiss to Lyon for example, an so there are something like 24 player.

But the 8 to 16 people are not always the same, depend on how you organise your month, so most of the player only participate to one tournament every month...

More than this we have The Big Ones, the Regional and then The National.

Regional are big tournament organise one per meta one per year, all along the year. And it's a good reason to going drink some beer with player from the other side of the france...

And in June, There is the National, THE big tournament of the year were three quarter of the community try to be (sadly some cannot come) and that's why we have now 75 people pre order for joust and 57 for melee....

@Diana,

You beat me to it, I was translating a few things and posting in the other thread... Oh well sorry for the double post guys...

I'd be interested to hear about that Targ Melee deck listed as having taken first place - any clue about it?

@Wolfgang

Having played faced it on the final table, I can tell you it was a Dothraki only deck using Wedding Feast and Deadly Khalasar as a finisher. There is a very similar list here: letronedeferjce.forumactif.com/t1701-deck-melee-1er-cr-nantes-2010-targ-dothraki . Its in french unfortunately and this deck was surely a bit different as this one dates back to the end of 2010, but you should get the general ideas. When I have more time I can expend a bit if you want.

Ok so there are there a recap of results of french tournaments

spreadsheets.google.com/ccc

How it works??

The ponderate one is for results ponderate by how you are far from the National... So if u win in May you win the most of point * 11 cause it's May...

Under is how many people play this house and who is the TOP for the House..

Thanks to Mika...

For May now....

Since tomorrow (tournament this evening in Paris...) There was 5 Joust and 3 Mellee Tournament in France in May.

if you want to see all results you can come here

letronedeferjce.forumactif.com/f20-tournois

where google translate will be your friend ^^

Thank you for the breakdown, Diana.

Did all those people really play stark in the joust and not use the siege agenda?

A bit more info about restricted cards, so far, there has been only one large tournament where the RL applied, and I'm not even sure we took note of who was running wich restricted card :P . From my understanding though, each house has a card that is chosen in majority by that house's players as follows:

Martell: VB

Lanni: Castellan

Stark: Fury (for To Be a wolf)

Bara: This one is a bit more mixed but I'd say most people run NE

Greyjoy: Fear of Winter

Targ: NE

Of course, this is only based on my personal experience and not on numbers, so I may very wrong.

Yep Fieras, cause with so much Brienne, and in fact with fact that french prefer play int, that explain the little number of SOW, we don't eally like it here.

In addition, Some Stark are a bit new, cause everybody play on this tournament, newbie too

@ Fieras

It is surely a metagame difference. Around here, SOW is not regarded as very strong in Joust as it makes you too depend on one challenge to claim power. Most stark players prefer a more rounded approach that doesn't suffer as much against things such as: kneel, Lineage and Legacy, Burning, etc... Also it stops you from using the Minstrel's muse which is an awesome plot IMO. Add to that some different build like shadows and toolbox, and it reduces the number of pure aggro decks Stark fields around here.

.... **** it beaten again.... But still posted as it exands a bit ;)

Yes but i play in Octgn with russian one in the same time ^^

I see. Makes sense I suppose. Of the starks at the bottom, I would guess "being new" would explain why they don't run one.

I guess I just haven't seen much success from anything other than Stark SoW or Stark CoS around these parts.

Really, i will not say it to Katagena cause he will laught, he have some really effective stark deck..... (really, i'm not on of thoses bad french you know angel.gif )

And have you ever think a bit about direwolf or Bolton??

I've seen bolton fail miserably. Maybe it was a bad matchup, deck, or player, I don't know.

Direwolves I have seen with some success, but nothing special.

Cause last year on Nantes Regional, top 2 Joust was 2 stark, and the second play bolton without roose(first play wild 3A) , so i don't know how it can work now^^ And the same player win the Joust + melee

But they still play old nan, the better card ever ^^

Stark ruullzzz! American player don't know how play with the Direwolf's house (joke)

@Kalindas: I would not say Minstrel's Muse is awesome.. I would say it is cheated. gui%C3%B1o.gif

Thanks for any updates - I would love to see what happens!

You will get further informations in 2 weeks after the French Championship. All French Players are very excited to play in one a the biggest tournament ever. And we will be pleased to show you the results because i see many many differences in our play style.

Would some non French players gamble about the top House or the top Agenda?
