Things I've learned so far in Regional Season 2011

Just curious - why is it Thanksgiving weekend? ~So I can't see the Nebraska/Colorado football game (wait, next year that turns into Nebraska/Iowa). lengua.gif

Do you really get a lot more since it is a holiday season, or is it actually worse since people have family commitments?

Again, not being critical in the least - just wondering. We have our Alumni basketball tourney on Easter weekend and it is great for the younger grades (they are usually in town anyways) and horrible for the older crowd (many people either have plans or want to go to their own church if they are religous).

It staretd as a local NY tournament the first two years 2005/2006- everyone had off on that friday and it was a good day to get together. except for Melnick, cause the market wasn't closed.

but yeah - the Friday after the holiday - pretty much everyone had off. Even as we exopanded with teh Pilly and MD metas - ot wokred for a lot fo people.

Yeah, like Tsga said -- it's really a "local" tourney that's simply grown and branched out over the years. Most people are free that day -- off from work and no family obligations -- and ~1 hour of travel to play in NYC (if you live in the area) has pretty much made it a no-brainer over the years...obviously if you're out-of-town it makes things more difficult.

Sounds good - I agree if you are within train distance it probably gets a lot of people there, and that is what is important. ~Plus Melnick couldn't play which is always a plus gui%C3%B1o.gif
