Possible Source Materials

By ChaosLegionaire, in Anima: Beyond Fantasy RPG

Hey everyone.

I'm new to the world of Anima and I was looking for some pointers to help get me started. I know that there is a lot more books for the game then what we have here in the Americas. However I was wondering if there were any other games that have beastiaries that can be easialy converted into Anima. Anything like Pathfinder, D&D or some other RPG?

Also, is there any other RPGs who's campaign books can be used with Anima with relative ease?

Thanks for the help in advance. Always interested in any other useful information that you think may also aid me in my Anima adventures & campaigns.

First off, I'd suggest Gaia, which is a sourcebook for the setting.

Apart from that and the Core Book the only sourcebook available right now in English is the Game Master's Toolkit and very soon the Dominus Exxet (which is a very powerful sourcebook for all fighting classes.

If you (or any of your friends) can read Spanish, thre are a couplemore sourcebooks: Los Que Caminaron con Nosotros (something more than a monster manual) and Arcana Exxet (sourcebook for Casters, Summoners and Psychics). Also, Edge Entertainment syte has 3 Web Complements with some additional information.

As for the setting, I believed there's some more "fluff" in the rulebook of the miniature game (Anima Tactics). Again, probably there's more stuff in Spanish than English. Personally I don't own either the English or Spanish rulebook, but I believe there's more fluff based on what I read on the Spanish Forum...

...Oh, yeah, the Spanish forum is an AMAZING source for anything regarding the setting, since even Anima Studio posts there quite often.

That sounds pretty cool. Kind of wish I could read Spanish at the moment.

Something else that I kind of wanted to know was if any other game systems were compatable with the Anima d100 system? I have heard that D&D 3.0 (and 3.5?) is pretty compatable with monor adjustments. Does any one else know anything like this?

Rolemaster and the old Chaosium systems (call of Cthulhu, Stormbringer, etc) are close enough that you could probably translate characters to or from without much hassle.

Alright, that sounds good. Thanks for the pointer.

i was wondering now... does anyone know of any campaigns that are good and work really well with the Anima world/game system?
